There is no Doom Marine. The original. He defined the genre in which most of these characters are from. He blew up hell. How dare he not be in this photo.
Or Sam Fisher. Actually, he's probably in the painting, but good luck trying to find him. You know you can't until someone's neck gets snapped.
key thing is last 10 years
doom Marine is a bit old for that seeing Doom 3 dint exactly make a splash

I could only name 14 (though I didn't know that the Portals counted as characters):
-Illusive Man
-Master Chief (though never played the series)
-Commander Shepard
-Raz
-Glados
-Drake (never played)
-Ezio (could only tell it wasn't Altair because of the facial hair)
-HK-47
-John Marston
-Miss MacFarlane
-Jimmy Hopkins
-Loghain
-Kratos (never played)
-Niko

It's pretty good, except for Jimmy Hopkins. He just looks like a 50 year old veteran midget. Why are some people getting so angry over who is in the painting? God, the things people get upset over...

lol I was staring through the picture thinking where the hell is Andrew Ryan? He should be here! Then he was pointed out in the second one. I like that he's in shadows but I feel like he should be more prominent.

I got very few of them...I've played very few of the games present...Still a good painting.

However, Arthas should most certainly have been in there. I may have even included someone from SC2 (Going with the theme, it'd have to be someone not in SC1, released before 2000, which is a shame because Kerrigan in either form would be an excellent addition to the picture).

Someone from TF2 and/or L4D would've also been better. Hugely recognizable.

Incredible picture I admit. But I don't see why Loghain would be there. Maybe just to represent Dragon Age itself, but that could've been pulled off better ( Duncan, for example, many others ).

Oh and btw, I thought Cpt. Price was some random fisherman :D.

i got a few, but some just look too different (tommy vercetti for instance, and i just wasn't expecting others. i mean... illusive man as an icon for gaming as a whole? i'd sooner have put gordon freeman there... and why isn't kane on there? it's still an awesome pic though :D
Yes, where the hell is Kane?! Kane lives in death! etc and so forth. Really now, he's the ultimate antagonist (if you're a dirty DGI dog), or insanely charismatic leader (if you're a member of the glorious brotherhood).
For that matter, where the hell is Arthas? Or Illydan Stormrage? Somebody does not know a lot about gaming history, me thinks...

Ethan Mars from heavy rain, Dr Kaufmann from silent hill shattered memories, Alyx Vance from hl2, master cheif from halo, raz from psychonaughts, proffesor layton is in one of the pictures and miles edgeworth (I think) is in the other and commander shepherd from mass effect are all i can recognise.

This picture needs Gordon Freeman, Sam Fisher, The Duke and a TF2 character.
Half-Life came out in 1998, meaning that Gordon is disqualified, and the first Duke Nukem game was released in 1991, which means he's VERY disqualified.
*grumbles* fine!
But Sam Fisher is way more relevant than some of the characters on the picture.

I think the qualifications for being in the picture said that the character couldn't have been in a game released in the past decade, no matter what game they were in this decade.
The first splinter cell game came out less than 10 years ago, however.
