Well the 550ti is going to give you much better video performance than the integrated graphics processor so since it's currently not doing anything there isn't any reason to not put it to use.

How did it not fit? Was your case too small? What part was hitting something else?
The motherboard is vry small, its hard to explain but it just wouldn't get flat in there, it some input slot I think blocking it from sitting flush.

Could you post a picture/pictures? I realise it's a bit awkward at this stage but I've never heard of this happening before.
I guess i have to thank you, i figured out that its the SATA ports on the mobo , in that where they input they stop the GPu from fitting down. Ill have to purchase flat SATA cables so it will just fit, if i can find em.

Yeah that's some awkward sata port placement...

The closest to flat sata cables are the angled ones, something like this. If it still doesn't fit you should check if it's possible to remove the plastic fan guard from your 550ti.

If it's not possible, I think it'd be a great deal cheaper to get a new motherboard instead, although you'll probably have to reinstall your OS and all that jazz.

Do you know if they sell Sata cables with the heads in opposite directions, one of them being L shaped?
Cause i tried googling, but im not sure im looking for the right thing.

Isn't this what you're looking for?
By L shape I mean the sloting is of the opposite direction, ie,http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812123282

I need them because I tried using some right angled ones and they didn't fit right, due to the placement of my sata ports. By using these left angle ones though, I can prob get the sloting flush to the mobo, which you might be able to see better here.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130661

Thanks for the help though.
