I'm sure more than a few of you have enjoyed the Multiplayer Beta for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The beta has only been out for 3 days but I have to say:

Wow.

This game is amazing. I've never before been sucked into a Mil-Sim like this since Call of Duty 2, as far as regarding the multiplayer aspects(the only Call Of Duty title that I've enjoyed and liked in any sort of way.)

What are your thoughts so far on the game, Escapists?

EDIT: If you're interested in the Beta, either load up a copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction and if logged into UPLAY on the game menu, there should be a link to the download (X button on Xbox360)

OR

If you pre-ordered the game before April 16th, the reciept should contain the code which you redeem from your console's homepage.
Otherwise, all you can do is create a UPLAY account, apply for the beta, and wait for the e-mail.

Aww and here I was hoping it was about the spirit of a soldier who died in the future and went time traveling back to the past to assist the still living remnants of his squad by performing recon and trying to warn them of things ahead of time by making slight alterations.

Was there Campaign? GR:FS has been on my list of games to check on since I watched this demo from E3:

I just hope its just as stealthy as this. For some reason, I would prefer having more missions where not a single shot is fired until the end, its seems more tense that way.

No its strictly for the Multiplayer portion of the game.

But playing 100% as a Scout (who's role can be summed up pretty well in the Escapist Review in the Video Section) I suspect that the stealth aspect will be very polished and critical.

It looks great, the only thing I'm worried about it the active camo. I mean don't get me wrong it looks awesome, but the whole thing that makes stealth gameplay exhilarating is the significant chance of being spotted and shit hitting the fan. Being able to pretty much just dick around in broad daylight consequence free seems like it could make the game too easy to be fun.

Been playing the beta and having tons of fun with it.

So far it's fantastic, there's only a few things that I don't like so far.

1. Iron sights on all the American guns are absolutely terrible and pretty much force you to use the red dot sight if you want to see anything.

2. Objectives take far too long to capture. I feel like capture time should be reduced to about half of what it is now, otherwise it's much too easy to defend an objective after it's been captured.

3. Spawn trapping is too damn easy. This could be remedied by having more than one static spawn. This would force spawn campers to split their forces, making it easier to shoot your way past them.

4. Flash bangs work too well. The flash bangs keep you completely blinded for about 8 seconds, which is totally ridiculous. I honestly think that flash bangs shouldn't be in the game at all, and should be removed entirely.

Outside of these 4 things everything about the game is great.

I'm glad to hear this. I also thought the previews looked nice, even though this game seemed headed towards complete disaster for a long time.

In regard to the multiplayer. It only works if you standing still unless you have the advanced equipment which allows you to move slowly and cloaks from thermal, but you can still be taken out by tracker bullets, sensor grenades, emp's, and if you fire at all the cloak immediately deactivates, this and coupled with the Scout having much less health than its Riflemen counterpart, evens out the balance issue.

In regard to the campaign, I'm sure Ubisoft will know what to do properly with it. I mean, like I said if you shoot at all the cloak disappears so you still have to be careful.

For #1) You don't really need to use iron sights that much and you only need to rank up once to get new sights.

#2) Yeah, they do take a while to capture but I haven't had too many problems where the capture takes too long. As long as there's a few teamates around me I'm fine.

#3) They do have a method to prevent Spawn Trap. They allow the enemy too spawn from different flanks if you spawn trap them. Like in Pipeline, it is pretty easy to spawn trap the Russian initial spawn but basicly everytime my team has done this they end up spawning in the alley behind us and flanking us

4)I have the opposite reaction to Flashbangs. Yeah if they do hit you it lasts for a damn long time but all you have to do is face away from them, no matter how close it is to you as long as you're turned from it you should be fine.

Not trying to put you down :p just trying to clarify.

Really?

Because... Well shit, I can't stand it. I understand it's in beta, but literally nothing about it works. I just feel the game is broken. If one team is even remotely better than you, you are going to get your shit packed in.

It's not even that I'm bad. I'm generally one of the better players on my team.

Edit: The more I played, I realized that it's one of those games were you simply cannot have fun if you're getting beat. When you have a decent match, it turns out alright.

So as long as this game puts a shit load of emphasis on ranked games, it should be okay.

I find it awesome. Scout is freaking awesome to play. Going invisible, sniping and all is just plain awesome. :) Also I am REALLY good at sniping in this.

The fact that you don't have to use the iron sights doesn't excuse how abysmal they look. It's like the guy who designed them had never fired a gun before and didn't know what good iron sights look like.

And no, I repeat, spawn trapping is too damn easy. I've actually never been on the other side of a spawn trap, but I've had a few games now where I was playing with a friend and the two of us together managed to spawn trap the entire enemy team by ourselves for the ENTIRE GAME, while the rest of our teammates dicked around next to the objective while hoping someone would get past us. It was absolutely ridiculous how easy it was to do. I feel like the only way to make the current spawn system remotely fair without completely revamping it would be to make people invincible while they're in their designated spawn.

i do have the same reaction when i started to play beta. i enjoy the gameplay, the movement, and the upgrading system. the only cons i can only think for now is that the game mode you are REQUIRE for some level of team work. i remember the one time i had a team that work together, and i had a great time. most game that i'm playing is pretty much a free for all, and it hard to play the objective. and the other con is that it takes a while to connect to a game, but i makes believe is my connection( but i got a decent internet connect)

I want to play more but from what I played yesterday I was having a pretty bad experience with it. It took me forever to get a game and when I got in a game I was dying within 10 seconds. I'd literally walk out of spawn and some guy a mile away would shoot his shotgun and I'd be down. It was just irritating.

I want to play more of this game when my friends download it.

Yeah... The Shotgun in this game is really really over powered.

One thing with the teamwork aspect is the absolute requirement of voice chat I found that by talking to my teammates, playing the objective was a lot easier, however playing on my own got me more kills, so go figure.
