"Should of". For the love of god, it's should've! Anything where people mistake contractions pisses me off to no end.

I'm not one to pull someone up over grammar errors on the internet, but the little things sometimes do irritate me, as it requires next to no effort to learn and use the correct version of "there/their", etc. "Should of" gets to me as well, as it shows basic ignorance on the writer's part. You would never turn around to someone and say, "I of done all my work." At least I hope you wouldn't.

Most annoying for me is when people substitute "of" for "have". To quote a friend "I wish my teachers would of taught me better math." Yeah? I wish they taught you better English!
Just because lazy folk say "I would've" doesn't mean it's not "Would have". Same applies for "Could have," "Should have," etc.

Realistically, it all annoys me. I'm a Grammar Nazi born and bred (I'm third generation), and in my matriarchal line, reading is both pleasure and privilege. If you don't know how to spell something look it up, if you don't know what it means look it up, if you can't pronounce it ask someone. The Dictionary is our friend. Simple little things really. =D

And yes, I was taught how to speak proper "BBC" English as a child, so I was that annoying kid complaining that you were not using "The Queen's English" =S lol

Grammar mistakes don't "shit" me because I like to think I have a high enough maturity to get over other people's accidental errors.

If you've played Warcraft III as much as I have, you tend to forgive those mistakes.

Unless it's really fucking fucked up. Such as in;
wow ur a fag y do u even paly this its bulshitt

Than I often make snappy comebacks such as
"Your grammar is absolutely fabulous! Did your mom learn you how to type? Because that explains a lot, since she's been very busy of late sucking my length of"

It's often followed by silence, horribly-made copy comeback or the, oh so original, "fuk u"

I get the shits when people misuse words, or don't understand their definitions.
Same here. Especially when people say "I could care less", surely it is easy to see how it doesn't make any sense given the context it is most often used?

I care about something = I could care less = It is possible for me to care less than I do.
I don't care about it = I couldn't (could not) care less about it = It is not possible for me to care any less than I do.

Your and you're, their, they're and there.

It's not hard. It also really annoys me when people don't use capitals when talking on msn.

Quite a bit, I'm a bit of a closet grammar Nazi. Probably the one that constantly gets to me is "alot".
Also "aloud", "loose" instead of "lose" and "to" instead of "too".

It is not hard. After a while of forgiving a chronic mis-speller, I will begin to suspect that person is not unfortunate at typing, but simply LAZY.

there =/= they're

But what really drives me insane is when people replace whole words with single letters or numbers.
"hi 2 u 2"
RAAAAAAGE!
I don't think "its" is wrong, and as far as I know it is not the same with "it's".
Uses for "it's" (it is) : it is blue, it is a shame, it is late, etc.
If I'm not mistaken "its" is used in the same way "his" or "hers" is used.
If you beat up a Gremlin you might say "its face is busted up" (possessive pronoun) saying "it's (it is) face is busted up" would be wrong.
That's pretty much exactly what I was saying.

I hate it when people call something ironic when it's just strange/a coincidence.

Wait, let me get this straight. You're asking about grammar on a site that features a webcast call ZERO PUNCTUATION? Riiiight.

I hate the abuse some people put the poor '...' through... like every sentence trails off... points remain apparently unresolved... and some people use it as a replacement for just about any punctuation they feel like! ...I find it almost impossible to read posts like that... tend to just skip right over them...

As someone with the deepest respect for the English language, the ones that cause me to cringe most are as follows:

"Then" instead instead of "Than". It just doesn't get worse *than* that.
"Your" instead of "You're" If *you're* the sort of person to say this, you need to work on *your* grammar.
Those are bad, but the two that I hate the most are
"It's" instead of "its", and this one, which I hate most of all: Using an apostrophe when writing a word in its plural form. Like this: "Here are my photo's and video's". Anybody who does that is, in my opinion, a complete moron.
