Very nice, both of you.

In order to avoid a possible warning, I'll add that since GT has no character or story, if the movie is too focused on racing, racing, racing, why not watch a real race instead?
Id quite enjoy that though. Especially if they held a global gran turismo event where the challengers must compete in different events such as rally, road races, formula one, track races and nascar etc

Im my opinion the fast and furious series was ruined when they moved away from the racing and cars and put more emphasis on characters

Well, at least the fact that there's no characters, or storyline to the games means that there isn't anything for the movie studio to ruin.
....Hahahaha! *wipes away tear* Your blind optimism in that statement is hilarious. No...no they'll find something to ruin. If they have to they will purposefully seek it out.

Woo thanks for the laugh buddy. That's a good one.

Who bets that either Vin Diesel, The Rock, or some other wall of muscle will end up being the lead?
(Not saying anything against either Vin or Rock, I think they're both great guys and good actors even.)
I never said I expected it to be good (I don't), all I said is that at least there isn't any source material for them to butcher. Anything bad that comes out of this movie won't have anything to do with the game.

Hopefully the film is based on this guy

That makes perfect sense. The Stig does not speak, so he's perfect for a Gran Turismo movie.

Which got me thinking a little more. You know who also doesn't speak? Gordon Freeman.

So the only logical conlusion is that this movie is actually an elaborate announcement of Half-Life 3 and you, you're in on the conspiracy. yes, I'm on to your wicked wiles.

Serously though, it would be neat if the Stig, or indeed anyone from Top Gear, made a cameo in the movie. They've already got a Brit in one of the lead roles, so cramming in some awesome ones for bit parts wouldn't kill them.

Sounds like an interesting idea, but let's save some time here. It's a videogame movie, therefore it was about a 99% chance of sucking.

If the stig was the lead and went uncredited. If you never see his face and he doesnt speak a word it would add so much intrigue

Either that or it should star nigel mansell

I'm willing to guess that the pretty big success of the Fast and Furious series had an impact on why we're suddenly getting Need for Speed and Gran Turismo.

Captain Obvious, awayyyyy!!!
