GTAV for PC will be arriving on April 14th at retail and as a digital download. Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC.As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.

Welp, in all honesty I'd actually appreciate having the damn game not delayed again instead of having even more virtual currency for pre-ordering, but its something I guess. Also do you guys think its a bit of a dick move to still have the game launch at its $60 price point two years later and with its next-gen console versions also being much cheaper at that time?

*sigh*

Good news for console players at least! The heists are finally coming on the 10th of March.

Do they have like 1 guy working on this and now he broke his hand and only works half as fast? I just might wait for the Witcher 3 to release. After all, it might end up releasing sooner.
I'm going to begin taking bets on my own prediction. I think Rockstar, the jackasses(stick to your fucking release dates!) have at least one more month long delay in them. The Witcher 3 releases on 19 of May.

I am far more understanding of delays in new games rather than ports. I'd be more understanding if say, a high spec PC game was being ported to consoles, like when The Witcher 2 was brought to consoles. Even getting it to run is a small miracle given the hardware they are working with.

I'm starting to come up with further conspiracies. The trying to "prevent" piracy angle is just too boring. GTA V is one of the best selling forms of media ever. Maybe there's some kind of back room deal between Rockstar and the console manufacturers to delay the game so people will cave and buy a next gen console.

Well it is getting a massive graphical overhaul. Not just textures but things like the mesh and even the engine needs a tune up.
The PS4 version had pop-ins when traveling fast. This would be unacceptable on a gaming PC that (on average) has more RAM and Processing power than a console.

Well see what Rockstar makes of it, just don't pre-order in case it is shit; steam-sales are for games like that. :p

They can take a few more months for all I care, cause I don't really want a repeat of GTA4 which was a unoptimized mess of a port.

I can't wait for GTA V to become the new Half-Life 3, especially since it's building hype for a somewhat lacking experience.

Lol, looks like the PC version of GTA V is going to become the new Duke Nukem Forever. I'm betting the actual release is going to happen somewhere around 2026. What're your bets?

I'm glad I don't pre-order games. Honestly, $200,000 worth of fake currency? Is that some kind of joke? Who the hell thinks $200,000 of in game money is worth yet another delay? Surely after this many delays they should begin with discounts, not in game currency.

Whether they're polishing the game or not, this many delays is becoming ridiculous. And even so, I see no reason to rejoice over their dedication. Since when has a series of missed deadlines been the mark of a quality product?

Yeah, that's a bit crap. Thing is two years old, should be half price at least. I haven't been following this game's port, since I don't really care about it specifically, but unless we're talking basically a new game here, it shouldn't be full price.

Also, I agree that Rockstar should be giving some kind of discount or rebate to the pre-order folks if these kind of launch delays have been part of the process. More in game money is a nice gesture, I don't want to get on their case for at least trying to make good, but it seems more like a gesture for a first or second delay. If this is third or more, actual, real money rebates should be sent out.

Still, at least they're trying to make it a good port, and they're trying to be decent people about the delays, instead of rushing out a half-assed crash fest and yelling "SUCK IT HARD, NERDS LOLOLOLOLOLOL!", so I don't think any rage is warranted, maybe a bit of annoyance. Now, if it comes out and it's a crap port, then rage like you're Angry Marines who just found a 'roids and liquid crack syringe.

Isn't the fact that the online game doesn't have heists yet the bigger deal? People have been waiting for that since launch. Yeah, it sucks to have constant delays but not having a feature that people fucking bought the game for is the bigger deal.

Pro-tip to PC players: the game is not that good.

I mean, it's ok. But do temper your expectations.

I won't be wasting $95 AUD on this, yes, $95 AUD. As if I'd pay that much for the game after all the delays and already purchasing it on PS3

See you in two years time for the eventual release and heists. I'll be waiting till 2018 for GTA VI or V to be $20 on steam...

I'd honestly prefer if the game was delayed rather than broken. Though maybe if they don't know when it's going to be ready, they shouldn't be giving us a release date at all. Also do PC games cost the same as console games where you guys live?, they're always about ?20 cheaper over here on release.

Is even someone saying this game is godlike? AFAIK, there are only people who are mildly pissed about yet another delay here.

I was going to wait until it was more reasonable anyway. There are so many games to play now that I'm not drooling for new releases.

Besides, GTA V is no Skyrim, I'm not going to pay 60 on release for it, especially if we on PC get it 2 years after everyone else.

Honestly, I have never really been into Rockstar games other than Red Dead Redemption, and whilst I praise the insane attention to detail in GTA, I honestly think that Saints Row does better at being GTA than GTA.

That being said though, I am happy to see that they recognise when a game needs to be delayed. There is nothing worse than a game coming out broken, so at least I can give them that.

I don't think counting Grandma's Dell as part this conversation is appropriate. I'm not sure what the "average" gaming PC would be like, but any gamer that specifically owns a PC instead of a console probably does have a machine better than the PS4 at this point.

It can't be the next Half-life 3 because we haven't heard shit about Half-life 3 in years. GTA 5 has actually come out, if only on consoles so far.
