Yeah... and? Robins are cheap. There have been at least 5 different Robins that I know of. Robin dieing or retiring (Well done Dick you managed to not die, keep pressing X though Nightwing can't last forever) is not something new. Now if Bruce Wayne died and Dick took over (and it didn't turn out that Bruce was teleported back in time by means of bullshit writing) then maybe I'd be more into it. This isn't Spider-man dieing and being replaced with a black guy, this is another Robin dieing in a long line of Robins.
Yeah... And guess what, they are already setting up a new Robin, a female one this time around.

Well, I guess they finally got low enough to try the "If our character is not good enough, we will put boobs on it to increase it's popularity"

Robin ? Damian Wayne ? will die in issue No. 8 of DC Comics? ?Batman Incorporated,? which hits shelves Wednesday.

It seems that this story was planned and has been a long time coming.

I haven't read Batman...ever, really. Just Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. I knew a girl who was best friends with someone who hated the old Robin--Jason Todd--so much she called the 900 number to vote 125 times for Todd to die.

The final tally for his death was somewhere under 100 votes.

So yeah: I knew the girl who knew the girl who killed the last Robin who died. If they did bring Todd back later on I wouldn't be surprised.

Who knows? Maybe this Robin stay dead for more than a few months or so.

Nah! Somebody will bring him back.
I think your spoiler alert for EXTREMELY obvious reasons is in the wrong spot. Seriously it's not hard at all to talk about big news without revealing spoilers, but instead you had to put in a place where it's unavoidable for people visiting the site. I hope next time you feel like doing something like this you be a lot more considerate about it because the only thing you accomplished here is ruin a issue that people couldn't even read before hand even if they wanted to.

Oh and before anyone gets on my case I stopped reading comics months ago, I just thought it was a really wrong move on his part.

Uh, isn't this thread title an absolutely massive spoiler?
That's what I thought. He but the spoiler alert in the thread but the spoiler itself is in the title. It would probably be a rather massive spoiler too if I actually cared.

I mean, they've 'killed' Batman at least twice now (Batman R.I.P."This is the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman" - Grant Morrison[/footnote] and Final Crisis
Same death, buddy. Chronologically 'R.I.P.' was a prelude to 'Final Crisis', in the latter of which Batman was throooown back through tiiiiime (cue x-files theme), so everybody thought he was dead. There weren't two supposed 'deaths', it was all part of the same story (also Grant Morrison).

They did. He came back bad, & became The Red Hood. Now he's an antagonist, most of the time, & he tried to become the next Batman when Bruce was MIA during the above mentioned "death".

Actually there has already been a female Robin, the fourth Robin. (Not to mention that I think the Dark knight Returns had a female Robin though she's more of a non-canon character).

To be honest, it was for a very short time and with the reboot I don't think it's canon anymore, since Tim Drake as Robin is no longer canon either(In the reboot he skip to Red Robin)

Oh, it's Damian? Yeah, he'll be back. His mother is not going to let him stay dead. Not a chance.

My dad told me about this today when I came home.
"They're going to kill Robin," he said.
"Which one? Because there's like, five now."
"Oh. It doesn't say."
"Actually, they've already killed him once YEARS ago, and they brought that one back."

Now, if it was Nightwing, then I'd care. But Damian, not so much.

Man this SUCKS.

I liked Damian Wayne.

Besides, I'm kinda tired of the killing of characters just for the sake of mild fake drama and sales that will just mean nothing in a few years.
This.

Also, GREAT. Batman's SON is going to die. Because, you know, he doesn't have quite enough emotional baggage yet.

I'm not necessarily a big fan of Damian, though I admit he did bring something fresh into the series. I am a big fan of Tim Drake though, and I'd like to see him finally come into his own and kinda step out of Batman's shadow. But no! DC can't have progression and character developement! That turns "new readers" off!

They did have a female Robin before.

Stephanie Brown. Yes, I did need to put this in Spoiler tags :)

Huh, I'm kinda curious now, is there a list somewhere of comic book characters who have remained permanently dead? I'm not an overly huge comic book fan but from what I've read here at the escapist and a couple of other places it seems like there aren't a great deal of comic book characters(especially comic book superheroes and supervillains) who haven't been brought back from the dead.

Oh and I'd love to see Movie Bob do an episode about comic book characters who have remained dead.
