honestly, you could try and go with a low-profile card. It'll be easier on your system, as they are generally low-power consumers.

honestly i believe getting a card to match the system and flogging the whole thing when you want to upgrade is the way to go

Precisely what I plan to do - overspending on one or two components on a pc that is at best average is not a good option (also the case would get crowded out fast)
