Great but extremely unknown/underrated games.

gladius, its a turn based gladiator game with a little fantasy in which you run a gladiator school and fight tournaments.

It's a great game although a bit repetative in the end but hey it has co-op!
I currently have that sitting in my PS2.

Now, a game that nobody seems to have played was Wizards and Warriors for the NES. I've only met one other person who has ever even heard of it.

smt persona 3 and 4, indiana jones and the infernal machine, a lot of the stuff already mentioned, does jedi knight 2 jedi outcast count?
Pretty much everything in the SMT series would count...

Also the Ghost in The Shell: SAC game for the PS2 was really good

Armed and Dangerous on the Xbox. A surreal, hard-as-nails shooter with a very British, utterly hilarious sense of humour. Absolutely nobody I know has even heard of this game, which is a shame.
Also, Oni. Anime-inspired action game with hand to hand and ranged combat. Hard as balls, mind. Bungie lost the rights for this franchise to Take Two, hence why the only games Bungie seem to be able to make these days are space-marine shooters of average quality.

Dark cloud, but more importantly Tombi(Tomba in the US). just fun, a pink haired cave-dude who kills pigs with a black-jack.
ARGH LOVE THEM BOTH!
Dark Cloud is so original and awesome
I only played the Tombi demo :( now it's stupidly rare and I guarantee I'll never play it now.

The Shadow Hearts series on PS2.

Shadow Hearts
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Shadow Hearts: From The New World

All brilliant games in my eyes

Star trek Bridge Commander. Hours of fun. Especially with mods.

SWAT 4 for me was one of the best shooters i have ever played but barely anyone has heard of it let alone played it.
I played it. It's not the most forgiving of games and your team mates are the epitome of uselessness.

Me: Flash bang and clear that room!
Team: Right on it!
*Throws a flash bang AT the door, blinding the whole team, and getting everyone killed

<url=http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/spoonyone/letsplay>The Spoony One's Let's Play of that game is hilarious, however.

Agreed. I always did Valens' story because, fuck it, Ursula's was too easy.

Dark Watch was actually suprisingly good. I quite enjoyed that.
Kameo: Elements of Power, Jade Cocoon, Fear Effect 1 and 2, Bugs bunny lost in time (olly olly oxenfree), Colony Wars, Vandal Hearts II, Heart Of Darkness, Operation Winback, Ghost in the Shell: SAC.
Haha, I second most of this. I personally got a lot of mileage out of Darkwatch (ex-Oddworld employees made a vampire western? Hell yeah!), Heart Of Darkness was fantastic, and Bugs Bunny Lost In Time? Man. How many other games let you drop anvils on a witch's head...

Anyway.. I also always loved the old Spiderweb Software RPGs; Exile, Nethergate, Geneforge. Also, Fantasoft's Realmz. The Penumbra games are two of my favourites, but I've never come across anyone else who's played them.. And I really enjoyed Prey, although it was more good than great.

Star Wars: Republic Commando (Xbox) seems dated now but then it was amazing and could be again if someone gave it a graphics overhaul and a new story.
What he said. I've played this game more than any other game I own, even Mass Effect 2. Best game in the world!

Gitaroo Man!! One of the best beat games no one ever played. (ps2)

Azure Dreams~~ it was an RPG, I might even call it a roguelike. It had collectible monsters, randomly generated levels, town building, house decorating, and dating. It was so fun to play, and no one ever played it.

Grim Fandango! Let's all agree this game is amazing. ^_^

Worms was good, until it became 3D. And then... Vagrant Story, which I believe is a game that defines the Action/Adventure/RPG games.

Vexx for PS2/Xbox/Gamecube.
And as the OP has said, Metal Arms : Glitch In The System.

Right now I'm looking for another game that not many people may know (or maybe they do), but I'm hoping will be good (it looks like it is) Ghost in the Shell for the PS2. Has anyone seen this around lately?
