But, there are others that were canceled much like it which were just as good in their own right. Not coincidentally, most were produced by Fox before they were shut down.

Pretty sure the shark was just part of the zoology station (Hydra) just like the polar bear.

OT: Not really sure... don't watch too much TV and everything I like is still going. Maybe Spaced but not sure if that was actually cancelled or not.

Tour of Duty.

Tour of Duty was a great series, but i think it ended quite well. To drag it out would have been a disservice to it if you ask me.
Chalk up another one for firefly xD
Futurama shouldn't have been canceled at all.
Stargate Atlantis. The series had plenty of life left in it, and it was completely awesome. Stargate SG1 had some truly fantastic episodes, and it had some god awful ones. I can't think of a single bad episode of Atlantis.
Also Invader Zim. best cartoon ever.
