Great CGI that still looks good today.

So I was watching Terminator 2, and I was thinking. CGI was pretty good but still pretty noticeable back then. But they were able to work around that by having the T-1000 be "liquid metal" and since CGI looked like that anyway it worked amazingly well.

So what other movies/shows/commercials do you think had incredibly impressive CGI that still holds up well today?

I'm looking for some older movies, Avatar doesn't count.

Jurrasic Park. Still holds up today. Yeah sure, they are some parts where the CG is a little obvious but well even compared to some recent films the CGI comes out on top.

I'd say that although I can't stand this movie, Independance Day still looks pretty good nowadays.

I've always been pretty good at picking out CG and green screens, I actually make it a habit to study the backgrounds of movie to ask myself "real or fake?".

OT: I gotta agree T2 looked awesome and even though the entire movie was made in CG, I think Shrek looks spectacular

The CGI from The Last Starfighter didn't hold up well, but when you think that it's from 1984 you can't help but be just a little impressed.

The Star Wars films. Although they look horrible by realistic modern standards, they don't look too bad, because they didn't try to show things that they couldn't.

The original Star Wars movies. While they're far from the Avatar level of CGI realism, you can't help but marvel at just how good they still look. Especially the space battles and lightsaber fights.

The Lord of the Rings movies, especially the Battle of Pelenor Fields in the third movie.
