Me personally: Clockwork angel is a great book if you've read some of the other books (city of bones/ashes/glass)
Eragorn is a definite if you haven't already read it.
Or just go to the library and pick out a random one, you just might like it.

The Witcher consists of 7 books, but only 2 of them have been translated into English. The first book is a collection of short stories (unified by an overarching story) called The Last Wish, so start with that.

Really, in the past 30 years or so, The Witcher and The Song of Ice and Fire are pretty much the best fantasy works to come out, by a long shot. I'd say The Witcher is probably the greatest. But yeah, The Song of Ice and Fire is also great, and I recommend it highly.

Out of science fiction - ANYTHING by Stanislaw Lem.

I've decided to read a little more while waiting for some big releases this year. I'm an avid reader but never bought English books before. Because writers in my country dislike fantasy novels, I've decided to read stuff I'm actually interested in. A while ago I played The Witcher and I was told that it was based off a series of books written by Andrzej Sapkowski. I would like to know with what novel I should begin and also why, or in what order I should read the books. I'm also very interested in reading about the stories of the infamous Space Marines in the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. I'd also love to know with what books I should begin.

Maybe a side question, where would I purchase those novels?
If you don't mind female leads, Maria V. Snyder's Study series and Dawn Cook's Truth series were ones I enjoyed quite a bit. But if you prefer something more Tolkienesque, Terry Brook's Shannara series would probably be more up your alley. I believe that series starts with The Sword of Shannara.

The Belgariad/Mallorean series by David and Leigh Eddings
"The Book of the Dun Cow" and "The Book of Sorrows" by Walter Wangerin Jr.
The Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King
And I've always had a soft spot for Lawerence Watt-Evans and his Legends of Ethshar series.

The "A Song of Ice and Fire" series is pretty much my favorite (starts with "A Game of Thrones" if you have trouble finding it). If you like gritty, truly medieval (or maybe dark age) fantasy rather than the mix of (some) victorian era technology, modern morals and medieval warfare that most fantasy is, no one does it better than George R. R. Martin.

As for where to buy it... I don't even know know what country you live in, so it's hard to make a recommendation. I would go to either Amazon.com, a Barnes and Noble (bookstore), or Powell's (more local bookstore).
