Bioshock.

Yeah, Bioshock. I don't hate the game; nor even dislike it. I'm a fan of the genre, and of its forebears. But it's still, for me, a fine game. There's nothing wrong with fine, but that's all it is. Fine. Pleasant. Rather good. Nicely made. Some interesting bits. But honestly, that's all. It's neither as intellectually engaging (Oh, it turns out Utopias are so-called because they're not pragmatically viable. Who'd have thought?) nor as deep as people seem to think, and whilst the core mechanic is sound, it's still never going to be as memorable as DX or SS2. In ten years, we'll remember those. Bioshock? No.

Halo 3, Gears of War 2 and Half Life 2 (the original Half Life 2).

All boring, overrated and extremely tedious.

Fallout 1&2 - the gameplay is just completely dull and the story and writing are pretty forgetable, too.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Fuck this 'game', there's vastly more cutscenes than gameplay and the cutscenes are ass. There's so much embarrassingly poorly written garbage it's impossible to sit through.

Fahrenheit: QTE after QTE after QTE, there's just no consistent gameplay system whatsoever.

Fallout 3: Granted, it was a step-up from the lifelessness of Oblivion, but it still lacked soul, which FO 1 & 2 had in spades. In fact, I think I'm pretty much in denial about the existence of FO3. It's just not Fallout, however hard it tries.

Resident Evil 4: it wasn't scary, it was just... silly. And cumbersome. I hated it.

Tales Of Symphonia: In fact, my very first thread was about this game. I gave it a lot of chances, but I just can't get past the characters. They're quite simply the worst characters I've ever seen in a game. I'm selling this piece of tripe on ebay.

Gears of War: more like Gears Of STUPID. No really, it's the gaming equivalent of wrestling matches or The Fast & The Furious. Apparently, MEN are supposed to LIKE THIS. Because it's VERY MANLY. Fuck that shit.

1. Any Final Fantasy game I played (I'm just not really into JRPG's)

2. Oblivion since Morrowind was IMO 100 times better. I still think that if Oblivion was just Morrowind with new physics it would be MUCH better.

3. COD:MW2 on PC. The single player and the multi. The net code for that game is so messed up that even on perfectly fitting servers (when your host is basically your neighbor) there is annoying lag issue that means some people have a BIT better net connection than you and even though in YOUR GAME you hid behind the wall and should have survived, in the other person computer you are just standing like a total duche waiting to get shot. It's so annoying...

4. And last but not least: THAT FUCKING SPORE! It was supposed to be so great and it turned out to be nothing but a pile of rubbish... covered in shit.
Even Maxis gave up on Spore :p. They are not making any expansion (and for that company this speaks for itself) and their latest patch (from what I heard) totally messed up the game for about 80% of people who were playing the game.
The game is just a huge stick made of failure that someone pushed in your eye.

Half-Life 2, felt very mediocre to me.

Halo: Combat Evolved, this too felt mediocre.

Dragon Age: Origins - well, the game is great, but most reviews praised it a bit too much, in my opinion.

Pretty much any RPG that isn't made by BioWare tends to bore me within a few hours. But for some reason, I keep trying anyway...eventually I'll beat Fallout, maybe Oblivion, or a Final Fantasy game...

Also BioShock, but then I picked it up a year later and was all, "Holy crap!!!"

And Halo pretty much goes without saying...

That game really disappointed me,

Bioshock, story might be good, but combat sucked, mood creation didn't really work for me (just putting out the lights is a really, really cheap way to try for horror feel), and i absolutely detest having to worry about ammo in rpg's, and i loath enemies spawning from thin air (wich, when added to no lights and extremely limited ammo (at the beginning atleast) pretty much killed the game for me).

Fallout 3 and Oblivion, on both i somehow just lost the plot and had no idea where i was going or why i was going there, and found myself not caring.

Jumping on the Bioshock wagon here. While it was interesting, the only thing I can honestly say I really enjoyed was Tennenbaum's character. Mainly because she's the sort I'd write, if I did Nazi death camps...

FFVII/X. It took me about forever to play both of them- they were just so boring! No good story, flat characters, and the gameplay SUCKED. There was just... nothing good about them. (Yet I've played X-2/XII, the FF buttmonkeys, and found them mildly interesting and even fun at some points. Go figure.)

oh there are so many more but I can't think.
There alot of games out there that i hated that would have been playable if the hype machine hadn't pegged them as the second coming of christ just for the game to turn out as ok. thats why the majority of the time i try to avoid hype as much as possible, which is difficult in communities such as ours.

SIDENOTE:I remember being on a forum where people listed their top 10 games.
one guy listed 4 that weren't even released.
so obviously I quested how a game he never played were in his top 10
apparently he knew they were gonna be good from their previews.
that mentality is half the reason we all get let down by the hype. Wether it be because you hold that mentality or because your surrounded by people who do.
I knew God of War 3 was gonna be good before it came out. I mean... It IS God of War...
