I have an idea for an FPS where the main character is someone who knows nothing about guns but is in a position where they need to be used, so the unfamiliarity with firearms is simulated by having an interface that is deliberately clumsy as hell. So loading and firing something complex like an LMG would require one keystroke for each movement and you'd have to memorise them all so you could be doing over a dozen keystrokes to reload the thing. I'd also like this main character to do things like get freaked out over dead bodies, run away a lot etc... all that "normal person" stuff. I'm sick of tough action heroes, I want to play a wimp for a change.
That... doesn't sound very fun. I think that deliberately breaking the game for reality's sake will only alienate players. Looking in the manual every time you have to reload your weapon doesn't sound like the best experience, and it would also break the immersion. Silent Hill did it to a certain level, it had such a clumsy combat system and it really annoyed me - made me quit the game the first time I played it.
Gameplay should be the top priority of a game and in FPS' shooting shouldn't be hard to do, since that's all you are going to be doing in the game. A game with an average Joe better have a damn good story if I'm going to play it.
Oh yeah, I totally realise that everyone would hate it, becaouse it wouldn't give them instant gratification and allow them to live their fantasies of power vicariously through the main character. So therefore even though I lvoe the idea, no company would ever dare take it on. This was a thread about stuff that exists only in your head, not stuff that you think will realistically get produced.

A Kingdom Hearts Spiritual successor.

Instead of Disney, it's a crossover between Square Enix and Lego's BIONICLE.

Think About it! The tried and True Action-RPG formula of Kingdom hearts, combined with Bionicle's rich, complex story and characters!

Maybe call it, I dunno, LEGACY OF LIGHT.

( I have a feeling Most people here don't know what Bionicle is, so this idea is sort of lost on this crowd. *shrug*)
I could have sworn Bionoicles got lame after the 3rd grade... I used to love mixing and matching different ones myself to make the ultimate single Bionicle that would, of coarse, kill all my other toys easily. Well, at least till I got another new toy...

My game would be a Super Mario survival-horror adventure, where the Princess gets kidnapped (once again!) and Mario enters Bowsers castle to rescue her. So far, so good, but once he's in there, he realizes, what a fucked up place Bowsers castle really is. The design of the game would be very realistic: A dark, gothic castle, bloodstained walls, rusty chains, flickering candles and, of course, big bad-ass koopa guards.

The game would start with Mario entering the castle and hearing some strange noises coming from one of the rooms in the lobby. As he opens the door and peeks inside, he sees two guards beating the crap out of little Toadie. Mario freaks out, runs to the main door (which is locked, of course) and then flees into a random room of the castle, slams the door shut and hides in a closet, shitting his pants (not literally). He now realizes, he has to find a way out of this hellhole. The gameplay would be a mix of stealth, Silent Hill-combat and pure, psychological horror.
How awesome would that be?

I got the idea while fighting Bowser in Super Mario Galaxy. I looked at him and I thought: If a Mario game wasn't designed in such a sweet, cartoonish look, but had a more realistic look, Bowser would be a terrifying, brutal, bad-ass monster. Imagine a mutated, 10-foot turtle with spikes coming out of its back and fire coming out of its mouth. That's bad.

Fisting Man:The Game:The Movie:The Book: The Tie In Game.

You play as Fisting Man, a Super Hero who fights crime by punching it in the face. It would be the best game ever.
Theres some WH40k: space marine trailer somewhere, where you get on top of a chaos marine and punch his face... WH40k space marines are sort of super hero-ish with their jump packs and stuff.

My friend came up with the idea for a zombie sandbox game. Where you can hide in buildings, but they can get inside too. And you can hit them/shoot them/run them over with anything you find.

Mine is a game in which you can create planets that will look any way you want, create life for the planets, and put plants and different fruit on them too. Or, you can just create some humans, and I mean Sims 3 editing quality, you can also give them personalities, and the game would have some way to know what the kid would look like from combining the parents.

You can travel through time, watching them build up straw houses and such, then drop a rock on one, burn another, burn humans, throw humans, drown humans, put different tribes into wars, and just tinker with their lives in any creative way you can think of.

For instance, you can possess someone, maybe multiple people, and have them go on killing sprees. As society collapses one, from not have any women to have children, and two, because almost no one is left but a handful of men. If you drive one mad enough with paranoia, he will kill everyone else for being possessed. Make him possessed, and he'll kill himself. Then push some pilgrims in and do it all again.

If you got bored, you could go to a time period and get missions to go to places in the sandbox place and kill something or other. It would have tons of weapons, spells, and things to ride on and it wouldn't have a leveling system. It's just that some monsters are harder to kill without getting certain weapons. And to get certain weapons, you have to kill certain monsters or buy from certain people. You can keep one weapon from any time period to the next.

This would have Fallout-type consequences. Put all your points into one skill, your other skills will have a lack and you will be unlikeable. You don't get points from leveling up, you are given points from doing quests.
That..sounds..AWESOME
Will Wright, you have met your match.

GTA V with force powers. And ninjas.
And streakers.

A Massive Multiplayer RTS, where you get to create your own Planet, it's economy, government style, and military. After you have researched and feel safe, you can head out into space, and begin to battle other people in massive battles.

Here's the catch.

Every attack starts with a in-space fleet battle, and from there, you can send troops down to the planet to attack key places.

During each battle, you can switch inbetween the two, as they BOTH going on at the same time, and the ground can help the space, and space can help the ground, etc.

I want a shooter where you play some weaker than average office stiff who gets caught in the middle of an alien attack, with the generic sci fi fanfare, complete with juiced up meathead space marines who will kill you for laughs and say the aliens did it. Stealth would be important methinks.

A alternate History WWII game where you fight Nazis that have managed to obtain every power imaginable, like one level you fight vampire Nazis, and in another one you fight robot Nazis, and in another level you fight werewolf Nazis, etc.

And it all leads up to a climatic boss battle with super Hitler!

I wold like a game a bit like infamous except you have to build up adrenalin to do special moves like if you build up enough you can run up a building or do crazy stuff like hijack a heli or something. It would take place in Tokyo after a giant spaceship landed in the center wiping out millions with it and irradiating countless others giving them powers(like the main character's). Also things called hunters have come down with the ship. ( Just imagine the Scrin from CnC3 with a bit of Big Daddy thrown in) You would work for a man called Mr.D who is trying to lead a revolution, seeing the space ship as a harbringer of a new era. However you quickly get atached to something called the circuit which allows for teleportation ( called Brinking) but the circuit is also what the Hunter's are looking for. It would be something like Splinter Cell with a bit of Gears tossed in.

I would love to play an open-world RPG based on Stephen King's: The Dark Tower.
How cool would it be to play the riddle contest against Blaine the Mono?

My Mutant: Reign of Terror which apparently would be a Saint's Row 2 version of Prototype with power trees and monster customization and evolution of appearance as you stole more genetic material to alter yourself with.

My Zombie Noir game idea of fighting zombies and Lovecraftian horror in the 40s.

A game about Xadhoom - the most ridiculously overpowered being since Superman... wait, this just in: Superman is a pissant compared to her. She has no weakness, except for when she gets angry and uh... explodes.
I don't know if it would be a particularly challenging game, but it sure would be fun.

Man, ive been waiting for someone to ask me that question. The game is called The Saint. It´s an FPS where you play as a man called Jack. He is an old, grizzled and scared vietnam veteran. As you play the game you unravel more and more of his horrible time in vietnam. He also has a sidekick called Densqvist. Densqvist also served in vietnam and sufferd the same fate as Jack.

The story involves Jack going to his work at your standard office building. When he gets there, he works for a minute or two. The rest of this scene i will take from what Jack says: " Honestly, i don´t know what happend, maybe something blew up, maybe the building collapsed. I don´t know. But what i do know was that i was shot out of the building, falling 30 floors to my death." In the next scene you are shoved into his perspective, as you look around Jack says: " Better check if somethings broken." He then looks at his leg, and you notice his bone poking out of it. "Shit!" Jack pulls out his phone, that is undamaged, and calls densqvist. The following is taken from the ingame conversation. " Jack, what the hell is going on, i noticed a huge bang from where you work, are you ok?" " No Densqvist, i have a ****ing bone poking out of my leg" "Shit, ok where are you, i´ll come pick you up." " 4 ben road, hurry Densqvist, im not sure i can hold out much longer." "Roger" When she comes to pick you up, you notice something rising from the shadows. Ingame conversation: " Jack, are you ok?" "You´ve asked that before Densqvist." "Sorry, anyways, i should be able to treat the wound in my house, Ivé brought my car, i´ll just drag you to it. Then you notice a man covered in blood. " Are you ok?" says Densqvist. The mans runs up and tries to bite Densqvist, but before he can succed, you pull out a gun and shots him in the head. Then other people starts rising and you scream, " Give me your gun and drag me to the car!"

More on this tommorow.
