Disgaea for the psp. I came across it by accident and never played any games similar before and have easily sunk 100+ hours into it. Never seen a game with so much content to go through after you've "beaten" the main storyline and the humor have been pretty good and consistent throughout the entire gameplay.

I found Nier while going through games to rent at my local Blockbuster. Needless to say it's in my Top 10. One of Squeenix's hidden gems.

The Legend of Zelda

I know crazy. Wanted to borrow a friend's Mario Kart Double Dash for the Gamecube which had a golden bonus disc containing the Ocarina of Time. So that happened.

Fire Emblem I found due to emulator shenanigans

And Metal Gear Solid, Baten Kaitos, Persona 4 and Shadow of the Colossus I found out of boredom really.

Dragon Age: Origins.

A friend of mine forced it into my hands one day and I played it. Clocked over 200+ hours to this day... that is seriously tragic.
this! the amazing thing was I didn't realise it was a bioware game til' my third or fourth playthrough (I tend to walk-off and make a cuppa while games load!)

That would be Psychonauts. Picked it up as a rental at Blockbuster many long years ago and when the renting time was up, I went back to the store and asked how much a copy was. When they told me they didn't have any, I paid for the rental copy rather than give it back.

Yes, it is that good.

Evil Genius. I suppose I had heard the name before, but that was also pretty much all I've heard. Then when I was randomly looking at GOG's sales-list, there it was, for only a few bucks. So I went "What the hell?", bought it and haven't regretted it a bit since.

Vandal Hearts and Brigandine. Easily a pair of my favorite PS1 games, only found because my best friend is into finding tonnes of random unknown classic games for the PS1. I just happened to get into them through him.

Deadly premonition
I saw the cover, saw that it was survival horror, and bought it instantly without a second thought or knowing anything about it.
turns out it wasnt survival horror but I still love it.
Even with all its flaws its still great, in fact I think that its flaws is what makes it great.
Pick it up if you want a little "FK" in your coffee (its super cheap).

Planescape: Torment.

I went into a bookshop, and came out clutching Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal (which is awesome). My dad loved Baldur's Gate, and HE happened to see Planescape: Torment, which he saw was by the same company. I'd never heard of it and dismissed it, but HE bought it.

He played through it, I played for an hour and was unimpressed.

Then I got bored, like a year later, and picked it up again.

10 years later, and the poster is framed, hanging above my bed, and is one of my prized possessions. Planescape: Torment became my favorite game of all time.

I bought a 3DS last month and the first game I got was Shin Megami Tensai: Devil Survivor Overclocked (because it was the cheapest game that caught my attention) and it turned out to be really good SRPG.

By the time August rolled around, Devil Survivor was still the only 3DS game I owned. So when I went to buy Persona 4 Arena, I decided to buy another 3DS game following the same principal, which lead to me walking out with Tales of the Abyss.

And like a lot people here I also found Dragon Age: Origins by accident. Right after Christmas a couple of years ago, my brother and I were out shopping so I decided to go into Gamestop and bought DA:O because I saw the Bioware logo and my love of Kotor, Jade Empire, etc. drove me to buy it.

The year is 1996, I was had some money to buy a game for Sega Genesis. Finally, I can buy FIFA Soccer '95. I buy it, came to home and prepared to to play fifa. But, ten second later I realize this game is not fifa. It was Outlander. I disappointed because it is not fifa. But I gave a chance to Outlander. I play it and I love that game. Luckily, I found a good game like Outlander. ^_^

The game from which my avatar originates.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.

I saw it when I was young and I liked the idea of robots blowing each other to pieces. So I grabbed it, without ever having been told anything about this game, and it's one of my favourite games from the PS2 era
i purchased it on gamecube, and even though i never beat it (i got stuck on the penultimate boss fight), one simply cannot describe the fun i had with this game. it was just pure joy from the time the game booted up. heh, i can still remember the title screen music.

anyway, the game i found accidentally which turned out to be a very significant discovery in my life period is this.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War.

since then, im a very large 40k fan. beaten all the games at least once (besides soulstorm), and currently have upwards of 2k points in a tau army for the tabletop, and it is ever growing.
