Brief History

A war has waged for millennia, an endless war between two virtually immortal opponents.
Vampires and Lycanthropes, two supernatural entities seemingly of myth only, control nearly all the worlds' resources between them.

The original of the two species, Tristan and Joseph, where brothers originally in life, in years long since forgotten. But after a curse was inflicted upon their family for angering a local witch.

The curse inflicted two irreversible conditions on the children, for Tristan it gave him an aversion to the sun and an unending thirst for the blood of humanity. And Joseph, a wolf-like form and a hunger for the flesh of the living.
The hunt for their urges eventually led the brothers to war with each other, the legions of followers that they had attacked but not killed behind them, the ensuing battle tore the region literally in half as the remaining humans fled in terror of the two inhuman forces at each other's throats.

That was over 2500 years ago, now Tristan lies at rest in a coffin waiting for a new era of the war to erupt after the past few decades of "minor scuffles" between the two enemies. As does Joseph it is rumoured, although some say he is hunting down greater beasts to tame for his army against his brother.

Over the course of the past millennia and a half, many supernatural creatures have been tamed by both sides. The most notable are Minotaur's and Centaurs' as they were split between the two as well due to minor conflicts between the main tribes of the species.
Another common species within the world are unicorns, which are commonly used as a food source for the vampires (which is expanded in a later entry), most other species have been hunted to virtual extinction.

During the period that Tristan and Joseph were gone from the 'public' eye, many battles tore through the ranks of both the vampires and lycans, severely dwindling their numbers, in the wake of the decimated armies of the species, the humans that gave birth to both sides of the conflict began to resurface from the depths of extinction.

The Resistance of humanity was beginning, this is where our story begins, just as the 3 dominate species of the Earth begin to war, and an Angel loses its wings.

But who will win? The vampires? The lycans? The humans? And who will the Angel assist in the Great War?

Elisha wanders happily through the castle, trailing her fingers across the dusty walls of the old halls.

"I wonder where everyone is today?" she mumbles dreamily as she passes by closed door that had been long since forgotten about.

She takes more blind turns down the twisted hallways of Tristan's castle, she stops outside the dining hall before pouting.

"I'm bored, I wish it was dark so I could go for a walk outside," she complains to one of the portraits, she had no idea who it was of, but the man looked very bored about being painted, or perhaps annoyed about something she wasn't permitted to see.

Not a huge OP, but it sets a bit.

All the vampires are in the castle at this point.

The Lycans can be out hunting or relaxing in their forest town.

The Angel and Human can start wherever they wish to be! Have fun and remember! Watch your grammar please >.> Dumping sheets in other thread...

Viktor ran free through the forest, his insticts dominating the forefront of his mind. He smelled human, she smelled of sweat and a mix of flowers that permeated his nose. He ran faster, as fast as he could possibly manage. His fractured humanity staying out of the way. He was soon upon the maiden, feeling the delightful taste of the girl in his maw, the ease of which her body crumpled delighted the beast. Soon he was done with his meal, though far from satisfied. He decided maybe some woodland creature would be better pray.

In case you couldnt tell, I play a psychopath. He wont be easy to deal with and is more intended to be a weapon for his faction.

Luther stepped through the busy streets of Bucuresti, his broad stature and large warhammer affording him an easy path through the crowds of merchants and labourers. A group of city watchmen gave him cautious nods as he passed, Luther was well-known as being associated with the clergy and thus was granted certain privileges.

Reaching to his belt, he removed his canteen and took a swig of water, smiling as his destination came into sight. Placing the canteen back on his belt, Luther's face returned to it's characteristic seriousness as he made his way to the great oaken doors of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Pausing before them, he looked up, marvelling as he always did at the grand architecture of the building. Raising his hand, he pushed open one of the great doors and stepped inside, closing it behind him as the silence and sanctity of the interior calmed his senses, weary from the constant bombardment of the frantic city.

Turning, he stepped forward towards the altar, glancing upwards at the ornate domed ceiling as he walked, the sound of his boots on the flagstones echoing around the empty space. Looking back down, Luther stopped before the altar, crossing himself before kneeling and clasping his hands, head bowed.

"Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen."

He paused, lifting the crucifix from around his neck and kissing it. He placed it back inside his clothes and closed his eyes, offering up thanks for his success at tracking and killing a lycan responsible for several murders in countryside villages.

"And may you grant me the strength,
To continue your great work O Lord.
That I may protect thy flock from the darkness,
And deliver from evil those who repent,
And damn eternally to the fires of Hell those who will not turn from their paths.
Amen."

Opening his eyes, Luther looked up at the golden crucifix adorning the altar, feeling a sense of inner peace. He was sure that his prayers would be answered.

Eosphoros sat in the isles of the church, watching the young man who entered as he prayed to their Lord. She approached him after he was done. "That's quite a beautiful crucifix. The detailing on it is amazing. Whoever made it must have been devoted." Turning from the young man Eosphoros took out her gold and silver rosary. She knelt in front of the altar, something she had done for many years since her exile.

"In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost." She made the sign of the cross with her hand and continued. " Most Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - I adore thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious body, blood, soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference's whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners. Let this prayer be echoed all over the world. Amen."

She glanced back to the young man and smiled. "There is something about praying that calms ones soul. Forgive me for not introducing myself. My name is Eosphoros. Its a pleasure to meet you."

The Castle

Marcus stood on the edge of the battlements looking out to the lands below him. His silver eyes stared unblinking into the distance behind the beautiful mask that covered his face.

He was a vampire of few words, preferring to show his intentions with acts rather than words, much to the satisfaction of many of his lovers and when he was not busy with the affairs of the vampires he enjoyed standing out in the night air, enjoying the view in the night.

A cool breeze blew by, causing his cape to ripple in the air. A storm was coming, a time of extended night.

A smile grew on his lips. Soon it would be time to hunt again

Luther turned his head towards the beautiful woman who had seemingly appeared of nowhere, watching her as she prayed. Her skin was fair, almost translucent, and cut a striking contrast with the darkness of her hair. Despite the near perfect complexion, Luther noticed the thin scar running down her right cheek. He smiled back at the woman as she finished her prayer.

"I am Luther, Luther Kovacic. It is a pleasure to meet you too my lady; it warms my heart to find company in prayer. You have quite a way with words, I often struggle to string two sentences together, let alone construct such beautiful prayers."

He looked back at the altar and the crucifix.

"You are right, I know a great many of the men who serve the Lord in this place, their devotion is second-to-none."

He stood up, dusting down his knees before offering her his hand in assistance.

"If you don't mind me asking, what brings you here?"

"Its an honor to meet you Luther. It has taken me many years to perfect my prayers. Where I am from we are taught at an early age to love God. To forgive one another and live without sin." Eosphoros said as she glanced over the young mans features. He was tall and his shoulders were broad, most likely from lifting the heavy axe that rested over his back. But the most striking thing about him were his green eyes. The best way that Eosphoros could think of describing them was soulful.

Clearing her throat she continued. "I've come here to ask for His forgiveness. But, as always, my prayers have fallen on deaf ears. If I may ask, what is a young man such as yourself doing in church? Most young men only come to church on Sunday and spend the rest of their time chasing women or drinking ale."

"Marcus," Elisha sing songs walking up the darkening battlements.

"Why are you standing staring at the near encroaching dark?" she asks her voice faulting slightly as her mind wanders to his mask.

Marcus drops gracefully down from the battlements and kneeled in front of Elisha

"Pardon, lady Elisha. I did not hear your approach. I enjoy watching the lands in darkness. It gives me peace of mind"

His voice was soft and rich like velvet, each word spoken carefully with meaning

"You don't need to kneel to me, Marcus," Elisha mumbles blushing slightly.

"It is more peaceful, at least in this light your face won't burn off," she states rather bluntly.

"Sorry," she smile lightly, minding herself again.

Luther smiled again.

"That sounds a good place to grow up."

Memories of his village sprung up unexpectedly, causing him to pause temporarily, a shadow crossing his eyes. Within a split second, he spoke again.

"The Lord is merciful and forgiving, he listens to all the prayers of his children and his love is infinite. For what it is worth, I do not think your prayers have fallen on deaf ears. But if you would like, I will pray for you, maybe that way I can slip a good word in?"

He chuckled.

"What am I doing in church? I have devoted much of my life to the service of the lord and have only recently arrived back in Bucuresti. It is only right that I should offer up my prayers to God for ensuring my safe return."

Luther looked around, a small smile playing on his lips.

"And I like it here, as you said earlier "There is something about praying that calms one's soul"."

Marcus raises slowly

"As you wish, my lady. And you do not have to apologize to me"

He smiled slightly as he looked out to the moon lit lands

"It is lucky we do not. Curious how the suns rays affect us"

But with that his face turned somber again

"Is there something you need from me, my lady?"

"Nope, not really," Elisha smile lackadaisically, "I just couldn't find anyone else, and I wondered if you would be here!" she smiles brightly.

It's then she notices the look in Marcus' eyes, "your hungry aren't you?" she asks her voice turning grave.

Eosphoros smiled, appreciating Luther's suggestion. "Thank you, but praying for me would be a a waste of your time. I have committed an unforgivable sin..." Before she said too much Eosphoros changed the topic. "I was fond of where I was crea-.. born. It was a heavenly place full of wondrous things. But after a while I began to question many things."

Taking a deep breath in Eosphoros released it slowly. "Forgive me for boring you with tales of my past."

Looking over her shoulder Eosphoros noticed a priest looking at her and holding a crucifix in his hands. I'm surprised it took them that long to catch on.

Turning back to Luther Eosphoros took his hand and opened it, placing a black feather in his palm. "I hope we meet again Luther. It was a pleasure speaking to you."

With that Eosphoros slowly exited the church.

As she asked about his hunger, Marcus coughed slightly in embarrassment and went back to watching the moon

"I...I am fine for now, milady"

He said, feeling foolish at how easy she was able to see his hunger

"Please do not insult me like that Marcus," she smiles lightly, "besides, you are welcome to hunt when the darkness is complete and the others are active."

She places her slender hand on his shoulder, "I think you should go and find some other vampires to go out hunting."

"I...yes, my lady. I will do that once the others come forth"

Marcus clears his throat, bowing to her to hide his embarrassment

A shadow approaches the two. Wavy hear brushed against pale skin, white-blue eyes lingering within the darkness.

A foot carefully placed besides them as he raises his voice.
"Kaem" He began. "I am at your service, milady"
He lowered his head a bit and waved his hand in a circle, making a very old and noble bow.

"I trust we will hunt this beautiful night, yes?"
Kaem asked, voice peaceful but elegant, but not too loud to make his wrinkles on his face show too much.
He knows he is getting old, 'Nearing the final rest' as he calls it.
That does not mean he has to like it.

The maiden creid out for help, but there was none to heed the call. A pact with God, a deal with Satan Himself, nothing could save her. The flash of pain was quick, yet the draining to come would feel worse still. Blood sprayed across the castle walls, a sickening unplanned artistic addition to the grey stones. The maidens crys grew weaker now, as the life force drained from her body. Her skin grew pale as she died in his arms...

Valdori awoke with a smile on his face as the memories of last nights feed still remained in his concious. The mabeautiful maiden, emerald eyes, raven black hair that was as black as the midnight. Her blood was equisite, as it always is from untainted virgins, and he had fed all night. Blood now dried on his chin in dark streaks, the taste of her still on his lips.

At the moment, he was hanging from one of the rafters in the Great Hall, his heterochromic eyes gleaming in the darkness. Gracefully, he released himself from the massive wooden beam and landed gently on the stone floor below. Straightening up, he pushed against the giant wooden door and strode on through to the dining area.
