Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd

Dark Side Of The Moon is a close second
Are you me?
Sad to see Pink Floyd fans putting Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here above the Wall in terms of the album specifically. The Wall tells a story in and of itself in a way no other album listed here could ever hope to achieve. Many albums listed here are great in terms of simply being a collection of cool songs, but that's it.
You're saying that as if this an objective thing. Or as if they are all exactly the same style and the Wall is composed better and is better written. Oh wait, they're not.

The Wall is awesome, I listen to it nearly every day, but Wish You Were Here (the song, mind you) is in my mind the greatest thing ever made by a human being. In every single way. For ever, and ever. I do love a good Rock Opera, and the wall is a very, very, close third; it's my opinion and don't you dare say your opinion about something completely objective is worth more than mine.

Just speaking my mind, of course. No real offense intended.

Protest The Hero - Kezia

It's bit on the modern side, but it does everything I love about punk, metal, or rock in general, while still doing something new and smart with all the elements. Highly recommended, especially to metalheads who write them off as emo; I've seen many converted. lol
Yay for some protest love!
Though personally I much prefer Fortress, the musicianship is of a much higher quality on that one. Kezia has a fucking awesome concept mind.

Ot: Well I mentioned Fortress, I'll add Ocean Machine and Addicted by Devin Townsend, Through the ashes of empires by Machine head, Death of a dead day by Sikth, Lateralus by Tool, Rage against the Machine's debut, Vs by pearl jam, Clayman by in flames, Alive of just breathing by Killswitch engage, and lately I've been listening to Periphery's self titled album, which kicks an insane amount of ass and will surely be added to the list.

I say this because Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here were never written as concept albums to the extent that The Wall was. Both of the aforementioned albums contain fucking awesome tracks, and on their own there are many tracks that i'd put way above a lot of The Wall (i do love wish you were here, the song), but as i say... as an album in itself, both Gilmour and Waters themselves will tell you that the Wall was as close to the perfect album that Pink Floyd as a group ever achieved.

But yes, at the end of the day it is subjective, the only thing i can say is that The Wall is generally considered the superior album by the overwhelming majority of people I've spoken to on the matter (including Waters and Gilmour). And for whats it's worth, i agree with you, take each song individually and I'd probably put Dark Side of the Moon above most of the Wall as well.
