The spear, it's what put is above the animals and gave us a fighting chance. It lead to us being able to survive and thrive in areas where only beasts could before. We can throw it and catch animals in the distance, wield it close for protection. The guy who invented the spear had to think "that guy over there has a knife too, let me put my knife on a stick and stab him with it"
