This sounds simple enough, in your own opinion what is the greatest ending to anything ever? It could be the ending to a series, movie, game, war, conversation, care bear fairy tale, anything.

For me it is the ending to RvB: Reconstruction, at the end of the epilogue every little loose end of the entire Red vs Blue series was tied up with the last 4 words, "Sincerely, Dr. Leonard Church"... BOOM kick to the face, you didn't see that coming, now go comment on it on Youtube or 4chan. And then Caboose was kneeling with Epsilon near Tex's body setting up a perfect cliff hanger for the next season. Oh boy am i getting worked up. Best. Ending. Ever.

Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End.

Just for the fact that it did end so I didn't have to watch that drivel any more. The other two were so good, so why was I constantly being metaphorically sick with rage whilst watching that shitbitch?

Smooth few films comes up with hilarious stuff, I admit.

EDIT: I kinda forgot about the question...

The Mass Effect ending, when...
You kill Saren after that epic walk up the citadel spire, only to realize that 1 reaper almost brought the entire galaxy down and there are tens of thousands more on their way

Yeah, that was hilarious. Although I think my favorite so far would have to be Halo 1, because there was a LOT of explosions.

Spoiler, I guess (since it's an ending, after all.)

The Shawshank Redemption, when Andy gets done taking hell from the Sisters, Hadley, and the Warden, "crawls through 500 yards of shit-smelling foulness and comes out clean on the other side," gets the money, and, eventually gets what he deserves: freedom and happiness. On top of that, Red gets out and finds him, and Hadley and the Warden got what they deserved, too.

I realize that this is contrived, but I still have very fond memories of the Sixth Sense. These days, that style of movie has been copied endlessly and no longer surprises me, but I gleefully remember my younger days and seeing that film with friends.

In the world of gaming, it would have to be reaching the end of Rainbow Six. I played that game on the hardest difficulty and finishing the game in that manner was considered a huge accomplishment. I suppose the journey was more of a reward then the ending.

I just finished the new Prince game and I thought the ending was amazing. It really evoked a lot of emotions, it was just amazing.

I wouldn't call it the best ending, but for its time, the ending to the original Onimusha was fucking righteous.

MGS4, just when you thought he was dead, that son of a ***** big boss comes out of nowhere. And explains all the loose ends of what was left of the series.
