Whether it be lyrics in a song, a line in a movie, a dialogue choice in a game, there are always lines that just can make you stop in your tracks. So what come to mind for these?

For a song, I think Radical Face's 'Wrapped in Piano Strings' has a beautiful line with 'Now I just sleep beneath your floor, my ghost just tries to keep you warm.'

Remember these lines can be from songs, movies, games novels or anything.

"They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard."

"War, war never changes."

"You want to buy a wind-X"?

"who's gonna take care of you when I'm gone, brother?"

"nothing is true, everything is premitted"

?Twinkle, twinkle, little bat. Watch me kill your favorite cat."

I will be sad if nobody gets it.

"Who needs a map?!"

-Ezreal, The Prodigal Explorer

Now this is a commentary on Ezreal's entire character summed up in a single line. Pretty damn good.

[sub]His voice is so sexy...[/sub]

Ok, i'm sure you want more profound stuff so...

"That's right. It wasn't me who was wrong... It was the world!"

-Lelouch, Code Geass R2 Episode one

That entire scene is genius

I believe that's Fantastic from Fallout: NV? Playing through the game for the first time right now so it's still fresh in my mind. I could be very wrong though.

You don't know me son, so I'll just explain this to you once. If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

- Malcolm Reynolds, Firefly

Nathan Fillion just delivers that line so well :D

-'So, hotshot, you want to fight Majin Buu?'

-'Fight you? No I wanna kill you.'

-Ultimage Gohan to Super Buu. One of the coolest lines of DBZ. Pity he didn't last long though.

Here's a couple for ya.

-- 'A man chooses, a slave obeys.'
-- 'Given the choice, whether to rule a corrupt and failing empire, or to challenge the Fates for another throw, a better throw against one's destiny, what was a king to do?'
'But does one ever truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate, and thus defy the tyrannous stars.'
-- 'We can't always fight nature, John. We can't fight change. We can't fight gravity. We can't fight nothin'. My whole life, John, all I ever did was fight.'
'But I can't give up neither. I can't fight my own nature. That's the paradox, John. You see?'
'When I'm gone they'll just find another monster. They have to justify their wages.'
'Our time is passed, John.'

At the beginning of Tales of Phantasia, was a saying from Frederich Nitchze.

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

That's a line, right?
*Sigh*
OK, this:
Seriously, I loved Tennant as much as any Whovian but you have to admit... when Matt Smith gets serious, he gets motherfucking SERIOUS.

"I am what I am. Someone has to be."

Reynald de Chatillon, Kingdom of Heaven.

Also, because I'm a Whovian, this from River Song:

"Everyone knows that everyone dies. And nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies in all the worlds might just turn dark, if he ever, for one moment, accepts it."

Edit: Thought of another one, from the greatest genius of the English language:

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts."

King of Asgaard said:

Red Dead Redemption, Dutch's final monologue to John. I want my cookies.

"how do you dare tell me that I'm my Father's son
when that was just an accident of Birth.
I'd rather look around me -- compose a better song
`cos that's the honest measure of my worth."
