What is the most revered piece of cinema you just didn't care for?
For me, it would have to be Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was revolutionary in it's day, the effects hold up surprisingly well even now and there's a lot of tension and atmosphere, but it failed to engage me beyond that. The movie lingers unbearably long on boring background events yet the main story (if it can be said to have one) feels surprisingly rushed.
