Good shout

I know it's always said but definitely the second half of Stairway, just as the drums kick in

Damn hard choice, so many songs have huge riffs. I'll go with Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth, with honorable mentions to Seek & Destroy, Back in Black, Raining Blood and Iron Man. Symphony is just so perfect, so evil and cheering at the same time.
Tu-ta-na ta-na-na... Ta-na-na Tu-ta-na ta-na-na!

By the way, people really give weird examples here, for songs that aren't really riff based songs (at least for me). Stairway to Heaven? Really? It's (obviously) not a bad song but the riffs aren't the main attraction there, it's the enigmaticness of it and the solo, or is it just me?

Bloc Party - Hunting For Witches

Muse - Plug In Baby
I was going to put plug in baby or knights of cydonia, the whole song is a guitar masterpiece

Muse - New Born. The solo. (Does that count as a riff?)

<youtube=h1SyBLF_23k&NR=1>

It starts at about 3:55 in.

Hyper Music is pretty good too.

This topic physically hurts me, too many to list :[
But if I had to pick a single one atm,

Just the one that comes to mind because I've been listening to a lot of Deep Purple lately.

One of my favorite songs: Jet City Woman By Queensrÿche

The way the drums and the different instruments work together gives me goosebumps every time.

Enter Sandman by Metallica
Also one of the best. And the most iconic. This begins at a concert and everything goes WILD!

Another of my favorites is the simple yet elegant one in Peace sells by Megadeth.

I could go on forever but I'll leave it at one more.

Not really that good but it works so well as a basis for this song.
