With the introduction of the PSN i immediately thought it was a great idea, but there more i think about it, the more i worry that im going to have to eventually buy two games.
For example the new Prince of Persia, apart from the fact it was a awful game, you could buy the epilogue, so that basically means you have to BUY the ending of a game. Now thats a rip off!!!!!

Now the things i could understand things like song for GH and stuff like costumes of Little big planet and Cars for FC2, because they add a little more fun to the game but without it being completely necessary to buy them. But i also thought of map packs for COD:WaW because i used to think 'ok they add extra fun to the game' but now if you don't buy them you have to quite the match everytime they come up in the random order

now that just plain annoying

any other thoughts on this?

There's already a thread sorta-kinda like this currently running.

I'm fine with DLC, but it's annoying when I see a game get released and DLC is ready on the same day. That clearly means that the game is incomplete (in terms of the main game) or they were simply holding out on content. I'm fine with delays. I don't like the idea that developers deliberately removed content to be released alongside the main disc as DLC.

Halo 3 ODST. Seven hour campaign, one multiplayer mode. Full price. Ballad of gay tony had more content and was longer and it was a third of the price.

Ya I kinda hate when they do that sorta thing. While I understand that as a game gets older its cool to add more content like maps/storylines/ect. But what they shouldn't do is make them "unofficially" required to play the game, like WaW does. Nor should they make them expensive. Personally, I don't know exactly how much any of it costs since I don't buy any of the DLC, but I wouldn't spend anything over $5-$8.

Funcom is a massive offender of this, they released their Age of Conan way too early. It was almost literally half a game: barely any content except grinding for the later levels, tons and tons of bugs and glitches.

A shame, because it really stigmatised AoC and it's finally becoming a really good MMO.

If you don't do the research before you throw down your hard earned cash... A fool and his money will soon part!

Fallout 3 did the same thing. I know they say they planned the game to end that way but I think they knew what they were doing there.

Also look at gta4: the original disc was even more bare bones than gta3 and they get people to throw down $20 for some new missions and a bunch of vehicles and weapons that should've been in the game to begin with.

Halo 3, as all the map packs really are required to play the multiplayer
and every sports game in the history of the world

I'd chalk up the lack of content up to HD textures and bad data management then trying to squander money.

A GAMER and his money will soon part. I mean 60$ a game hell, I couldn't hold onto 100$ for more than 3 days!

OT: I think DLC is bull. If it's free fine. But having to PAY to buy a fucking car in LBP or a dong in GH? It pisses me off. I don't download anything by=ut demos and (I hate to admit this) the occasional Wii-Ware game.

Actually, you mean greedy PUBLISHERS. It's often the publishers who force devs to release "unfinished" games, or who push for DLC that costs an arm and a leg.
