Green Arrow TV series

I like it. And I knew a pot about green arrow before and I am still ok with yikes being different, I works and while not great it's fun to watch.
I find it curious that a lot of fans are so pissed about the changes, all they keep are locations and names, most people don't even have their hero/villain name associated with them, which makes it hard to figure out who somebody is supposed to be.
Oh and Deathstrokes costume looks weird in the setting.

I kinda like the fact that it's basically a continuous stream of DC's non-powered characters.

The actually show itself is watch-able but nothing special. It's very safe, they don't really do anything controversial with it. It's average, though the fight scenes have been getting better.

They did kill Deadshot far too easily though.

It is a decent show sorta like a cross between Nolans batman and smallville. The overarching plot is strong but the details can be weak at times also the characters can be a bit melodramatic. I like it but it isn't anything amazing by any stretch.

Pretty much all of this. I will say that its starting episodes are stronger than Smallville's were so if it improves like that show did, it might actually be pretty great. Right now it's more of a guilty pleasure for me though.

Watched the first three episodes. The body count of our "hero" was nearly 30 people by the end of the third episode. At that point I had no interest in a "dark and gritty super-hero who kills! Cause you know! He's so dark and gritty!" so I stopped watching.

I may be reading too much into the series, but I think that arc of the series may be him turning away from this side and becoming the more man of the people character we see in more recent comic stuff. He has had a few discussions with the bodyguard character about going down a different path focused on helping the normal citizens instead of just focusing on his revenge list.

It's not the kind of super-cheesy comic-logic I enjoy; I just get the impression that every time the main character does a one-handed press-up or flexes his biceps slowly while pulling back an arrow I'm supposed to be going "SO FUCKING AWESOME!"

I can see why people like the show, I just personally think it's the kind of dumb fun I can't enjoy over the weeks necessary to enjoy a TV series. That and the humour just falls flat every time for me.

I assume nobody has mentioned the show because the whole "real" superhero thing has been done a hundred times before. There really isn't a fresh idea to be had, or any interesting territory to explore it has all been done better before. To describe the series in a word, Stale.

I really like it so far, I started watching it and realised that it is meant to be green arrow on the second episode -.-
it's kind of predictable but fun and not so hero like with so many "super" heroes
Helena Bertinelli is the new version of "The Huntress" not an alias of Helena Wayne as with huntresses old storyline but I like her so far.

Anyways, finally catched up on Arrow, and while it's incredibly mediocre for the most parts, it's also quite catchy. I always wanted the next episode, and it really bummed me out when I figured out that I had reached the end.

The overarching plot and especially the flashbacks (by far the strongest part of the series) are pretty solid, but most of the subplots get pretty weak. Most notably the romance plots, they get almost cringe-worthy at times.. They're also pretty over-focused, for a rather dark and large-scale action show like Arrow.

Also suffers from common action problems like all nameless characters (guards and henchmen) being completely useless in combat, and being hit by gunfire in close quarters is nigh impossible. Unless the one wielding the gun is a named character using plot device bullets, that is.

All in all, it's a show that greater than the sum of it's components.

Only had 2 episodes in Australia so far and...this is a show? An actually actual show? They didn't just throw a bunch of cliches together for the lulz?

Insufferable rich white guy who pretends to still be a drunken layabout. His black minder. Argues with his love interest whose jobs overlaps with his heroing, whose dad hates him and coincidentally is the guy trying to catch the hero. Blah blah blah.

Now, haven't seen much, but this seems to be the premise. Possibly a zombie outbreak happens and all that painfully ordinary crap gets thrown away. That would actually be a great twist. I don't think there's a remote possibility of this happening, though.

It's entertaining in a "turn your brain off" kind of way. This past week's episode was some of the most cringe-worthy and contrived television I've seen in a while, though.

I don't hate it but have a strong dislike for it. Watched around 10-12 episodes hoping that some of the potential I saw would save it but it never managed to make me care one bit for ANY of the characters. Thought the little sister was pretty interesting to start with but then she started to become as boring as the rest of them. Oh and I do have a special hatred for Laurel. Man what a worthless character (as in, she brings no value to the show).

The trailer really made me never want to see the entire show. I think now I understand why fans of Green Arrow will apparently not enjoy this.

Oh well, here's hoping for the Arkham Asylum reality TV show that I'll never see get made.

I watched Smallville, and like their interpretation of GA, and when I heard that they were making a show based on the character I was sceptical.

Being the comic book nerd I am I tuned in and found it pleasantly enjoyable. There aren't any super powers(yet), but that's not really a bad side.

Arrow's Oliver isn't as cheeky or playboy-ish as the cartoon representations I've seen, but again that's not a bad thing.
The first season, while good has been bogged down by this whole list story arc, and even Stephen Amell (the guy who plays Oliver) says that when he gets out of that story and into the 'comic' side of it, then the show will be better.

Well a watched a bit of one episode. I can't rate it on the plot but the dialogue was pretty poor and the characters seemed fairly shallow. I'm not a fan of the Green Arrow, haven't read any comics, so, hell, it could be absolutely amazing from the fan's point of view...but probably not...
