I so hoped this would be another thread about social interactions and awkwardness... I feel at home reading those and finding so many people with experiences similar to mine ._.
Like, how when you meet someone new, and you concentrate to navigate the introduction part, but as a consequence you forget to listen to them and miss the name. It's a life-long conundrum!
....so, what's your name again? I was caught up in formulating this post... :x

You mean you also talk to your breakfast pancakes out of loneliness...? :,<

Crudity is my personal coping mechanism. I have to admit the Advice Forum's got a pretty good crowd for that kind of thing. The support, not the crudity.

OT: Well hi there and welcome to the town of This Place! Watch out or those wendigos and nudists.

Always nice to see a new face, we're quite low in that department
I'm not sure that covers it. "Wait really I can't beli- shit. It was taco news" has happened more times than I'd care to admit.

Well, I'll be damned. I can't say I've ever seen an introduction thread without some ulterior motive. In that respect, you already stand out.

As for introductions, I... don't have a role, really. I just kinda wander through threads and maybe say something only I think is witty.

As a poster, bring an open mind and don't be afraid to weigh in on juicier discussions, but do leave the shitposting on Facebook and other such hives of scum and villainy.

Hello! My name is Jenna and this is my first post. I'm not sure if there's already an introduction thread - if there is, the mods are welcome to move this post to wherever it belongs. Anyway, I'm 39 and... distinctly atypical, as will become increasingly apparent over time. I'm looking forward to lots of interesting discussions, debates, and general camaraderie.

Any questions? I like questions!
wow 39. welcome in the eldery club of the escapist, come and remember with us life before internet !

Have a hearty welcome from the old guard, enjoy your stay. Good luck finding good discussions here, you have to dig for those a little bit these days. But it's still a pretty awesome forum overall.

As for questions, well um, what brought you here?

Welcome, you're the first user of 2016 I've seen.
And the first proper welcome post I've seen in quite a while too. But that might just be me, I'm not as active any more as I was in ye olden days.

A word of warning, Spidermod can not be defeated by the hand or mortal man. Use a keyboard instead.

Of course you do, that's a common reaction. I'm small and cute and oh so soft.

When I see you I feel the need to pass the vodka I try and keep handy, then sing bawdy folk songs from the time the sun sets til the time the sun rises over the crisp snow that mysteriously appeared at some undefined time.

Welcome! I'm glad to see some new blood around here!
Have fun, stay out of the basement, blame Kross for everything, and if you see a little red button posted ina thread or in someone's badge list you should definitely press it :D

It's been a while since I've seen you post some truly dank memes, Taco. I think you're slipping.

Uh oh. I think I chased her off.

The mods really should ban me at some point.
Well I dunno, it's weird. I've seen quite a few of these "HI GUISE!!" introductory threads posted on this forum, but then the OP disappears immediately after posting it and is never seen again.

Threads like these probably shouldn't be allowed. Not only in there nothing to discuss here, but the aforementioned trend is getting a little annoying.
There's only so many times you can welcome people (who are merely popping their heads in for a fleeting moment before moving on), before it starts to get more than a little bit silly.

It's activity, which this forum seems to need more than anything. Maybe it's actually site owners trying to make the place seem lively.

Welcome. Ignore the wet blankets in the latter part of the thread and enjoy your stay. If you are looking for discussions, just pick a topic and find the right subforum for it. Mods usually will move it where it goes if you get it wrong.

Well we found a way to debate whether or not you should say hello, so now you get the full welcome to the Escapist! Enjoy your stay pal.

Dinosaurs in fiction: Feathers or No Feathers?
Depends on the situation, since the most famous dinosaur story explicitly states in its 2 books and in half of the movies that the dinosaurs in it are genetic aberrations, no feathers. If it was time travel or pure DNA resurrection, feathers!

Hello Jenna, it is a pleasure to meet you, don't say anything good about Max Payne 3[footonte]Absolute piece of shit of a game, doesn't deserve to be called Max Payne.[/footnote] or claim that Zelda Twilight Princess is one of the best Zelda games[footnote]It's not awful but it's easily the most derivative and uninspired Zelda has ever been, I still have a beef with this site for choosing it as the best Zelda of the previous decade over Majora's Mask, WindWaker, Minish Cap, Four Swords and Oracle of Seasons & Ages, which are all FAR better than Twilight Princess, yeah Escapist I'll never forget your poor taste in games (That was in January 2010).[/footnote] and you'll stay on my good side.

I don't know about that, I'm 25 years old and I remember life without the Internet, granted I also live in a 3rd world country and am not wealthy but whatever, you don't have to be old to remember life without it, if I recall correctly I used the Internet for the 1st time on 2003 and it wasn't until 2005 that I actually got it at home.
