I want to hear any and all stories of people on multiplayer games getting horrendously pissed at someone doing something even remotely annoying. For example, I played GoW on xbox live, and one player named 'the dirk' just spammed the chat with 'the dirk the dirk the dirk the dirk' until someone starting swearing and kept going until everyone was silent.

Haha earlier today me and some friends were playing SSBB and I kept telling everyone that I was the best. Since I'm not actually the best this really got on one of my friends nerves and he threatened to punch me in the face =o.

I have such a short fuse for asshats in online games that I will only play invite-only challenge matches against friends I know from other places---no random matchmaking.

Before Big team slayer closed in Halo 3 me and some friends played entire games using only our plasma pistols and shooting only teammates. We never killed anybody so when somebody did kill us we booted them for it.

Annoying I would bet, but at least we didn't do it in ranked matches and haven't done it since BTS was closed.

I always give those kids hell. Like "doesn't your mommy know you're too young to play this?" and "How bad did beg your parents to get this game for you?" or "You really should be outside playing pretend little girl" (even if it's a boy, cuz it usually is)

There's no more big team slayer? I haven't played halo for awhile, but that was one of my favorite game types =[.

My experience with online games tells me that if anything is starting to piss me off, the best thing to do is to just play on another server.

Nope, just Big Team Objective.

The singers are annoying, the little kids who talk trash before the match and then end up sucking really bad are worse (but still trash-talk afterwards), chronic glitchers and lag switchers are douches ("if it's in the game, you should use it")...

It's annoying and yet amusing to hear people come in trying to be all thug-nasty and talk shit about racial stuff...this goes for all races. There was also a hilarious exchange on CoD4 between a Scottish guy and a black American guy about football vs. soccer (or American football vs. football). We were playing Domination and they were both on the same team...it went on for a good two-thirds of the round and I could barely play, I was laughing so hard.

heres an example from 2 days ago.
i was playing 007:Quantun of Solace for the 360 and put bluntly kicking ass in golden gun mode.anyway i played against this guy mad man m or something (send messages at your lesisure) for like 4 games. in the 5th or so he stops playing for a second and sends me like 100 chat invites with some sort of macro. so for the next half hour of play all i got was private chat notifications popping up, even after blocking communications and avoiding him i still got them for 20mins. sad thing was even with the constant distraction i still kicked his ass till he left. so i sent the kid a message asking if he couldnt take me ripping him up that badly, his response was "aww stop crying". when i pointed out the hypocrisy of his actions he had no comeback.

raging nerds - 1 griefers - 0

plus i dont find singing / babbling kids a problem either mock them or just mute them

Griefing is probably the best aspect of online play.
You're probably the worst person on the planet.

Although griefing players that deserve to be griefed is an acceptable and often very entertaining method of dealing with idiots.

Those guys who blocked the exits in TF2 and made the teams take some sort of pop quiz to get out = hilarious. I'd be pretty miffed if I was in that game, though.

I love when people illustrate my points.
I don't actually do it myself, I just think it's the most entertaining thing about playing online. There have been times where I've had to quit the game because I was laughing too much. More often than not it's the victim's reaction that makes it worthwhile. I don't know about you, but some of the most fun I've ever had in a game was trying to play through Streets of Rage with three friends - every time we'd end up beating on each other rather than the AI. Griefing is simply the evolution of that.
This.

Damn I love you Fansy the Bard...
