During my brief time at the Escapist, I've noticed that, on the whole, you are all pretty calm, reasonable, and logical people, who are open to new ideas and opinions. Except when you're not.

The fact is: you're all people, and as such, you get pissed off from time to time. And courtesy of the internet, you can voice your anger very strongly.

So the question is this: What turns you, a reasonable and intelligent person, into a frothing ball of hate and rage?

People who are just a frothing ball of hate and rage, jk. Just plain ignorance, not the sort of ignorance everyone has, those whose sole purpose is to piss you off (Trolls who don't know they are trolls) and won't listen to reason.

Other than that, it takes a lot to make me upset.

Well, I was hoping from the title that this thread was about bears.
So now I'm pretty pissed.

I wouldn't say a "frothing ball", but I do get annoyed when people make a thread pointing out how much more inteligent the escapists are, or how we are a bastion of reason on the internet. It's kind of circle jerky if you ask me. The only reason we are so well behaved is beacuse of how strict the mods can be. Which is good... most of the time.

For me it would be if people just say something like: "You don't make sence/are stupid." Or something like that and will not give me the curtousy to explain themselves. That's about the moment I am done in any discussion. If they don't, I'm done with them and think of them the same way they think about me.

Nothing online. There isn't any point to getting mad at things people say online. You shouldn't take offence to any of it, because it's coming from meaningless people who you'll most likely never meet.

In real life, the thing that gets me the most upset is substance abuse. There is no reason for it.

Intolerance and ignorance. Nothing is more infuriating to me than someone who hates something else for the simple reason that he or she doesn't understand it or even wants to make an effort to do so.

I never get that angry with people, to be honest one of the things that makes me the most angry about this site in particular is how anal some people can be about some rules yet so lax on others. Its mostly confusion though, certainly not wall punching anger.

If you're talking about on the internet, Nothing really does, I often try to hold up an argument if I'm provoked but it usually ends in "...k."

Assholes who go out of their way to be a jerk (mostly on forums), even when it serves no perpose.
That and ignorance.

I don't really get angry, I just get bitter and snipey. The sure-fire way to get me into that state, though, is to intentionally be a dick to me or someone I care about for no reason other than to be a dick. Only in real life, of course, I don't care if somebody does it on the internet or in a game, since what happens there doesn't really matter.
