If you live in Thailand, I do feel bad for you, but seeing as I live in the states, this really isn't a big concern for me. After all, the media will probably stay with this for a week, two weeks tops and then move on to the latest pictures of Britney's crotch. The constant repitition of this senario does get tiring, but in a few years, we probably won't be seeing any of this. Video games will be accepted as a form of entertainment and storytelling and we can get on with our lives.

I see this story as highly BS too. Sounds like he had some problems of his own and decided to pass them off as being GTAs fault.

The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, it was originally published in 1774.

Supposedly more than 2,000 readers committed suicide.(Note the supposedly.)
That is very strange, even if the number was smaller than 2000, it's weird for any number of people with something linked to commit suicide, but what was the book about? The book could of been about something that only appealed to whackjob suicidal nuts. As for the GTA IV incident, everytime there's a crime remotely like GTA IV, the media will rip through it quicker than a fatkid through a bag or oreos
Basically guy falls in love, realizes he can never have her, and it ends with him shooting himself in the head.

Scapegoat, and headline plain and simple, parents didn't notice their kid playing the game overly, parents didn't educate their child about right and wrong or the kid is unstable and therefore simply immitated something he glorified and needs help. GTA is in almost no way accountable other than showing the kid how you steal a taxi, which he could have absorbed elsewhere or been influenced by something else, To change the saying " Games don't kill people, people Kill people". Help the kid and move on.
