GTA IV or Saint Row 2?

ok, so I've been wanting to get a modern sandbox game, with a kind of "gangsta" twist
And I've found 17 quid in change around the house so which is best in your guys opinion, which would be more fun and easier to get into, as Ive never played any GTAs or saints rows.

Im on PS3 if that makes any difference

First of all, make a poll next time. You're about to be bombarded with Saints Row 2 fanboys, and a poll helps ease the pain, trust me.

As for your question, it depends on what you like.

If you want to play a game with a good story, interesting characters, and depth, get GTA IV.

If you want to play a game with a crazy story, wild physics and cartoon-like action, get Saints Row 2.

I don't care what anyone thinks, I love both games equally.

I found Saints Row 2 alot more fun I was free to piss around and customise the crap out of everything, GTA IV was fun aswell but in an investment sort of way put the time and effort in it pays off kinda, if your jsut looking for a good way to kill time and have a laugh definently SR2 though.

Saints Row 2 is better than GTA IV in many aspects. To name a few, it is more fun, it has lots of upgradeables, the cutscenes are more eventful and the soundtrack is better.

GTA IV and Saints Row 2 is where the series reach a fork. The GTA series goes for more of an ultra-realistic approach, whereas Saints Row goes for fun in epic proportions.

I would reccomend saints row 2, just because its more cartoonish, more crazy and a million times more fun. GTA4 is impressive and is very good, but its just not as fun, and it gets boring quickly.

I would highly recommend SR2. Its fun, it has more explosions, you get to make your own character, its cartoonish, and way more fun that GTA4.

Saints Row 2 is without a doubt the most fun I've had with a game in a while. The storyline is decent, the missions are fun, the side missions are great, and the amount of customization is awesome. You can customize just about everything, your characters appearance, clothes, house, cars, and even your gang members. Even just messing around in the city is a whole lot of fun.

GTA4 was just boring. I wanted to love it, I tried to love it, but I just couldn't. Yeah it is realistic which is a good, but they sacrificed fun for realism, which in a game isn't a good idea. It took me about a week to finish the story and after that there is really not much left to do besides collecting stuff. I haven't touched it since I beat the story, and I still play Saints Row to this day, so definitely pick up Saints Row.

GTA IV's Multiplayer is shocking, in my opinion anyway.

Saints Row. GTA 4 was pretty good going through the story (the multiplayer was bagged dicks) but it has nothing to do after you've beaten it. SR2 I still haven't gotten bored of, because you can wear nothing but a spartan helmet and stand on top of a bus that your friend drives killing people with an assault rifle. That automatically makes it one of the best games EVER.

If you want a game that can be both fun and crazy but deep and emotional, GTAIV all the way. But what you described is more Saints Row 2. But I would say GTAIV just because I love it so much.

As a player of both games i am highly recommending Saints Row 2 due it being more all around fun and the level are nice, mission are all around fun with many varied stories, and the game just has a crazy-kooky fun feel to it.

GTA4 on the other hand, while being a fairly good game with a deep story to it was just boring and Niko was a angsty depressing crackhead mainly because his cousing kept calling him and getting himself into trouble and always needing help

Depends on what you want. If you want a great story with excellent characters, some slow-pacing, and tons of odd references, go with GTA4. If you just want to completly fuck around in a game though, go with Saints Row 2.

Saint's Row 2 is my favorite game of all time. It's just fun. Imagine that, a game that is fun.
