Do you think GTA IV would be better if it had more cheats? For example, Saints Row 2 has loads of cheats but GTA IV has alot less. Here's my question to you. Would GTA IV be better with lots of cheats like Saints Row 2 to use after you've finished the game (or during the game if you want!)or would it ruin the whole realism of the game? Leave me a comment giving me your view on this topic! Or drop me a comment on my blog at http://stebay88.blogspot.com

This is an example of a "good" versus thread, where some actual intelligent discussion might occur. A bad discussion thread is "Master Chief vs Gordon Freeman."

No, I think GTA4 was fine as it was. And please don't advertise your blog in a thread. It's frowned upon.

GTA VI was Good for....graphics?

Saints row 2 was good for...Improving on every area which saints row 1 was bad for?

Phew, Thought I'd have to go mention storyline and dicking around there...

Depends on perspective.

Realism? Go for GTAIV
Fun? Go for Saint's Row 2
Immersion? Go for GTAIV
Catharsis? Go for Saint's Row 2
Story? Go for GTAIV.

Oh and versus threads are frowned upon here.Just so ya know. and welcome to the Escapist! Here's a cookie, go make yourself at home. :)

I think GTA 4 could've used some more cheats. Especially an Invulnerable cheat. That would've been awesome.

Saints Row 2 is just a as some reviewers of the game put it including Official Xbox Magazine said it was a Grand Theft Auto fill in when GTA IV was still in the works.
This would be pretty interesting, if SR2 didn't come out 4 months after GTA IV.

They're both awesome. Why compare everything? I enjoyed all of the hours I've logged on both games. Where GTA IV has its immersive and well-written story revolving around a like-able protagonist, SR2 has its simple and mindless activities like spraying shit all over suburban housing or throwing porn fans into bloodthirsty chainsaw crews.

Realism? GTAIV is not fucking realistic, want a realistic sandbox game? get The Original Mafia game.
Saints Row 2 was everything GTAIV shouldve been, R* stayed with the same shitty shooting mechanics and lame melee system (Why the fuck havnt they put in The Warriors fighitng system yet!?). The driving was great in GTAIV, but they removed everything else that made GTASA the instant classic it was.
I think they was talking about the whole getting drunk and driving for realism. Also the fact that you can kill 20 cops then get 3 stars on the magic meter that hangs over everybody's head.

I've said this several times to people. What GTA needs is to add a cheat mode to their sandbox. I already prefer GTA > Saints Row 2, but if a Cheat mode was added to it, it would make it amazing.

The driving wasn't really good at all, my brother's 4Runner could turn corners faster than any effing car in that game. This thread fell off topic pretty quickly, too. The OP asked if GTA IV needed over the top cheats like those in SR2 or San Andreas.

EDIT: OT, I really wished it would've had cheats like riot mode or all pink traffic and things like that, but they seemed pretty dead-set on trading fun for graphics and "realism."

Sorry I'm a bit confused here, what do you mean by Cheat Mode?
