GTA V, Anyone shuddering in anticipation?

I've had GTA V on preorder for a while now, kind of an impulse buy, but I thought it might be worth it. However, I might have jumped the gun a bit, because since I pre-ordered it I haven't heard any new news about the game, none, not even a release date. Ive heard a bit about Rockstar bringing jets back into the mix, something about the map size being massive, and the protaganist-trifecta thing of course, but thats it.

So I guess my question is, is anyone really that excited about GTA V? You think someone would have dug up something by now, at least a rumored release date, if they really cared. Now I may be wrong here so if anyone knows anything more about this game please let me know, but the general lack of disscussion i've heard seems to validate my theory that people just really don't care about the next GTA.

It would be nice to be pleasently surprised, frankly I hope this is the best one yet, but so far it just doesn't seem like people care all that much.

The release date is the 17th of September. And hell yes I'm excited, mainly for the multiplayer though. I wanna do me some co-op free roam. That shit is the best.

I'm always excited to see what Rockstar turn out...they haven't let me down even once with the GTA series so far so unless they do something totally insane it will be another instant classic. It will probably be the last game i ever purchase at full price...

Yep. Nothing beats gathering some friends together, taking a helicopter across town, crashing it into a swingset, stealing a couple of half-destroyed cop cars with broken sirens(yay potato patrol!), and engaging in one of the most stupidly theatric cat & mouse chases across the city. If you can't tell already I've enjoyed my time in Liberty City, perhaps a bit too much. I'm looking forward to September.

Not really.
Sure, it's fun to get some mates around and do the "who can get the most spectacular death" game but I never got that into the story or anything else of other GTA games.
Plus GTA4 controlled fucking awfully.

GTA4 was god awful, I played it for about half an hour and threw down the controller in disgust. Maybe it got better. The controls were so soggy and the minute to minute game play so dull I never really got to find out. So I can't say I'm overly looking forward to V, no. I haven't really enjoyed a GTA game since Vice City. Saints Row has kind of stolen my "open world psychopath simulator" affections for the time being. By virtue of not taking itself so fucking seriously, and the fact cars don't steer like 18th century barges.

That is one thing I really hope they fix in the next one. Your character turns like a long-wheelbase work truck and it's fucking ridiculous. Not to mention they respond a bit too slowly for my taste. For some retarded reason my brother thinks it controls better than Uncharted though. Bullfuckin' horseshit.

Well they set the release date and shown you the game pretty well, now it's time to sit down and finish the work.

Sadly my love for GTA has come to an end with GTA4 because the whole thing just felt so depressing, in their attempts to be "realistic" everything from gameplay to story just felt like work and GTA5 looks like more of that direction which I do not want.

Nope, not really. Wasn't a huge fan of GTA IV, in all honesty. Much preferred Saints Row 2 over it.

Yes. In fact, I'm so excited that I'm currently replaying Vice City, with San Andreas ready to go afterwards. Picked them up for about £15 for the pair on PSN. Now that it's been pushed back to September, I'll probably fit GTA IV and the expansions in again before then too. I seriously can't wait!

My interest is really starting to wane, what with them pushing it back over and over and not showing anything in terms of actual gameplay. I can't get excited for a game I still know next to nothing about.

Seriously I just want to know if it controls a little better than GTA IV. It was like controlling a wardrobe.

Not really after slogging through GTA 4 which had a good story, but in a game filled with chases they chose very unfun car handling for the sake of "realism".

They had better delayed this to bring it on the PC as well, else I will be very disappointed in Rockstar for ignoring the platform where GTA made it's name.

No, I never was excited for a GTA game...
GTA is one of the most overated games I ever seen in my life...
But I don't hate the series, I just don't care.

No, ask me again if they announce it on PC. I just hope if it does come to PC i wont have to take my cousin/brother/girlfriend/friend out to keep them happy like last time.

slightly. nowadays i prefer the saints row series over gta even if 3 let me down a bit. that being said rock star has never had a horrible game so it will be a hit. as for the lack of discussion and hype, well its so far off its just easier to get excited for other games coming out which for me is injustice.

Does it really matter?
As a PC release is still being considered, and if there is one it will no doubt use Rockstar Social club, it's not anticipation I'm shuddering in.
