Not really, no.

Don't get me wrong, I like the series and I am almost certainly going to get it the day it comes out, but to be honest unless a game is very story driven, I don't tend to get excited for it. I am sure GTA will be great, but I don't think it's likely to be ground breaking in regards to new features. I am sure they will expand and improve upon previous games a lot, but I can't see them doing anything that's going to radically shake up the series for the better.

If they had made the game where you get an RPG-like character system (think Skyrim/Fallout/Bioware game) then I probably would be more intrigued.

Yes! However I won't get t play it for a while, it comes out the day before my brother's birthday and it's what I'm getting him for it. He gets to play first. I don't mind waiting a little bit longer, it looks like it's going to be amazing.

I'm quite looking forward to it. I loved GTA IV, though due to control and design choices, some parts weren't very fun. I was disappointed when they announced the release date for September, since I was hoping for a March-May release, but hopefully the extra time will make the game better than what it would be (since a March release would have gone gold[footnote]For those that don't know, though I think a majority would, gold means the game is finalised, built, getting ready for shipping and can't be touched by devs.[/footnote] by now).

The release date is the 17th of September. And hell yes I'm excited, mainly for the multiplayer though. I wanna do me some co-op free roam. That shit is the best.
Yep. Nothing beats gathering some friends together, taking a helicopter across town, crashing it into a swingset, stealing a couple of half-destroyed cop cars with broken sirens(yay potato patrol!), and engaging in one of the most stupidly theatric cat & mouse chases across the city. If you can't tell already I've enjoyed my time in Liberty City, perhaps a bit too much. I'm looking forward to September.
This. So much this. I'm glad to see that someone gets it. And with the bigger world of GTA V the possibilities for crazy shit will be even better. Fighter jet dogfights in the city anyone?

Well they set the release date and shown you the game pretty well, now it's time to sit down and finish the work.

Sadly my love for GTA has come to an end with GTA4 because the whole thing just felt so depressing, in their attempts to be "realistic" everything from gameplay to story just felt like work and GTA5 looks like more of that direction which I do not want.
Yea, it reeked of pretentiousness.
Also I'm thinking that if they charged $20 for each mission pack with 4, I don't want to see what they charge for the other two cities that belong in San Andreas.
Right now I feel like I'll definitely rent it, then (unless it really sucks) probably buy the GOTY.
They are good games for passing around the controller with a bunch of drunken friends.

I'm anticipating a shit-tastic PC port, using the last...all GTA ports as an indication.
Plus, I did not like GTA4 much at all. It lacked the sting the older games had.

So probably not right away. It's only on my radar for a colossal lack of interest in most everything else as a whole.

I liked GTA4 for it`s story and characters and i love the two DLC episodes. Shuddering isn`t the right word now but GTA5 is the only game i`m really waiting for. Rockstar promises alot with the new one and i hope the better driving and the three way mission design turns out good and true. I`m glad that the random events from RDR return. This is a feature i also really like.
Since MP3 turned out to be damn worthy port there`s hope for the pc gamers this time.

Since it's being set in San Andreas, and thus, I assume, in the black ghetto, I may pick it up simply because that setting is what made San Andreas so fun for me. I skipped over GTA 4, but I probably wouldn't skip V, and the chance to hear some more of that delicious ghetto language in full force again. Oh, and driving around in a car full of blinged-out homies and blasting on fools with Tec-9's, then going over to get some food at Tuco-Bell. Ahh man, good shit.

Yo, dawg. Sorry to disapizzle you, but the ''black ghetto'' won't be the focus for V.

Funny- I thought you were asking if we were shuddering about GTA V in case it was anything like IV. As in, "was anyone else shuddering because they're thinking it may be another boring, depressing, dull city life simulator with terrible foot controls and even worse car controls, with most of the vehicle and mission variety from San Andreas thrown out the window, with the varied terrain and demographics replaced by the same looking scenery everywhere you go, with arbitrary 'choices' in the singleplayer that feel tacked on and pathetic, with 'contemporary' music that for the most part is utter shit because it's so new it hasn't had time to establish whether it's good or not, with a boring looking city full of boring, tedious people, who call you up all the fucking time when you want to be left alone, with hollow features like the TV that just hits home how much of your life you're wasting with the game, with decent ideas for multiplayer wrecked by the lobby system and the aforementioned shocking controls. Where the prospect of multiple cities was dissolved to facilitate just the one."

If that's what you had meant by shuddering, then yes, I would have said that I was.

I don't honestly get why people bark on the controls of GTA IV. They were just perfect for a game of that type. It's the games like Sleeping Dogs I don't get. Talking about horrible controls, there's a perfect example of a game which is completely ruined by shitty controls. The character moves awkwardly but that's nothing compared to how the vehicles react. Seriously? That has to be THE worst driving model in a game I've ever seen. A car DOES NOT handle like that, they feel like some two wheeled trolleys instead of cars! A car needs to feel like it has mass an thus does not handle like a freaking bicycle. The best driving models have been in Rockstar games as they get the whole idea of driving actually feeling like you're in a car. If you arcade lamers wail about that then cry a river and go back to your trolleys >_<
Yes I'm actually waiting for GTA V and hope that Rockstar doesn't ruin it for the PC. I think it's a safe bet that it'll be a lot better than Skyrim f.e. which was completely ridden witch bugs, crashing and similar shite. Skyrim is the perfect example of what you get when a game isn't made properly and coded well enough. Sure the content is interesting and it's basically a good game but it's beyond tedious to sort out it's many glitches and conflicts all the time. The next time the game starts crashing again, I'm going to uninstall it and burn the god damn disc in a ritual manner :D

Nope; I've not liked any games they've put out, this generation. Enjoyed the Undead Nightmare and Gay Tony DLCs, but otherwise they've plunged off of a cliff this generation.

No, Bioshock 3 is taking up my attention with the release date being so close. Although I will pick up V as soon as I can.

Rockstar haven't plunged off a cliff, I'm questioning your taste in games if you think that way. They have put out many games with interesting content and carefully created environments and atmospheres. Do I need to even mention how many good games they've done? Here are some: GTA IV, Episodes From Liberty City, L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, all of those for the PC and made well enough so that they function like they should WITHOUT any crashing or bugs like every title Bethesda has made since Fallout 3. Granted, their games have very interesting content but they'll soon be out of business if they keep releasing broken games. That is IF people will stop raving about them and get back to reality and stop supporting Bethesda until they clean up their act. It's easier for us PC owners as we can try to track and fix the issues but you console people have to just sit there with your buggy game and tear your hair out. In this day and age it's best to be a PC gamer since one can't trust the publishers anymore.

Captcha: bowties are cool <- No they aren't, they look ridiculous. Give me a normal tie any day and I'll look great :)
