Hello again Escapist from my GTA sleep.

After playing GTA V for over a week now, I am slowly liking Trevor more and more. I don't know if its the voice acting or the fact he is bat shit nuts and can be super sarcastic (I am a very sarcastic person). I know he has many bad points and no morals but just something about him is fun and interesting and different to other characters portrayed in other video games.

Really what do you all think and please no spoilers as I know many haven't played the game just yet.

I'm about a third into the game and i like Trevor more than Franklin and not as much as Michael. He's very entertaining but i prefer Michael for being more relatable and less over the top. But of course Trevor has some of the funniest lines and is generally a very well written character. Kinda like a combination between Hunter S. Thompson, Charlie Manson and Jack Nicholson.

I switched to him, he woke up lying on the retaining wall of a bridge completely drunk and wearing nothing but a pair of dirty underwear. I performed side quests and visited friends without changing for hours. I was actually pretty pissed when I did a mission and he put clothes on.

I love Trevor, best character hands down.

Damn i was about to make this thread . Actually i find that Our first impression of Trevor is wrong . From the first moments he comes off as a dumb redneck , who have violent outburst , and is batshit fucking insane . While , his attire has a lot of room for improvement , Trevor is actually a pretty intelligent ,clever person . He knows a lot , about everything . And i think it's due to this , that he doesn't give a shit . He sees the world for what it is , a pool of lies , deceit and bullshit . He knows this , and instead of trying to make the world a better place , he joins in . If people are going to try and fuck him over and fuck his mom , he's going to fuck them over , and fuck their mom ( and teddy bear) first .

It was right after the
Torture mission and Freighter heist
that i understood , that Tevor is just a product of the world he lives in . And he embraces it rather than reject it . A true anti-hero.

Trevor is currently in top position for my personal Favorite Game Character of the Year, and is easily in the running for "Favorite of All Time".

He's a methed-up maniac but he does have a moral center - as far as being a deranged criminal is concerned - in that he's deadly loyal to his friends and can't abide a traitor. He gives respect if its earned and will stomp your face in if you deserve it. In the context of the game and who he is: he's not really as bad as a lot of the reviewers have made him out to be. I mean think about it: he's a meth-dealing/smoking gun-runner who wants his business to be the best...that's why the first couple missions you play as him you're cleaning house. It's not like how Greg Tito made it out to be with him just committing random atrocities because he's crazy, he had a very clear plan to take out all of the competition to his business so that he's the only operation left in town.

Yes, he's crazy. Yes, he's deranged and obscenely violent. But he does have a pretty substantial number of "moments of clarity" where he's actually the one making the most sense. He's an extremely practical person who, above all else, gets things done. And in that way I can really respect him: he gets things done. He knows what he wants to do and how to do it and sure enough he goes out and does it.

That and he's a pretty funny troll, too. At one point I switched over to him and the switch-over cutscene featured some lady trying to take a picture of some landmark building and he keeps jumping in the way. Or another time when I switched over to him and he was picking a fight with two body builders, screaming at one of them "YOU THINK I DON'T RECOGNIZE MY OWN UNDERWEAR?!" :3

He's the perfect protagonist for the Grand Theft Auto series. While characters like CJ from San Andreas or Niko were generally well grounded individuals who were trying to improve themselves, their stories came at odds with the rest of the gameplay. Trevor is a fucking psychopath who revels in destruction, so anything you do with him is totally in character.

I like Trevor, sure he's fucked up in the head and has anger issues...but at least he isn't boring. I tend to play Michael a lot, his the most grounded character. I dislike Franklin, he's boring. I can't tell if Franklin WANTS to do crime, or just does it for money...his motivations are a mess.

Michael's a self-pitying sociopath. He's the kind of guy who would beat his wife and then be all "SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO?" That's what got him in trouble in the first place. I mean, not literally beating his wife, because to my knowledge he doesn't, but....

How is that relatable? He's pond scum, just pond scum with a nice house.

In one of the switches I did, he was in a fight with some bodybuilders over his underwear. I wonder if it's the same pair? T's not the kind of guy I picture owning too many pairs. Also, I wonder if that's why he got dressed.

Trevor is a wonderful character, delightfully insane and charismatic.

I think I said this before, but...
He kidnapped a wife of an angry Mexican mobster, grew attached to her and then he gives her back while crying as "You take away the biggest part of me" is playing the radio!
My sister absolutely loved Trevor when she watched me play.
That was hilarious.

Trevor is a hilarious troll, from his intentionally bad hipster clothing choices to the things he says when you do drive-by bird flipping.

The funniest thing I heard was when I pulled his Jeep up next to a group of Vargos gangbangers flipped them the bird, which made Trevor calmly state "I often have confusing thoughts about other men!", before driving away and leaving the Vargos both offended and confused.

Every time I play GTA V I hear another hilarious Trevor comment that makes me like him even more, despite his horrific introduction.

However, I do wonder if his unashamed Bisexuality/Pansexuality is just funny trollish behaviour, or genuine and downright hilarious. For ages people have been complaining about a lack of LGBT representation in videogames, especially with regards to strong characters and protagonists, so Rockstar took those complaints onboard and gave them Trevor "Any Hole's A Goal" Phillips.

I instantly fell in love with Trevor when he stomped that pussy Johnny's brains out. The waking up in a dress was just the cherry on top

My favorite one thus far has featured Trevor waking up on top of a mountain wearing a sundress, completely drunk, and saying "When I find the deer that pissed all over me I'm going to eat it's fucking liver!" Not really a troll moment, but still pretty damn funny. :3

You know, considering the teddy-bear incident, I'd say you've got a pretty valid theory there.

I love how for the latter parts of the game he actually has the teddy bear attached to the grill of his truck. xD

There's not only the Teddy Bear

In one of the switches to him:

When he goes to Los Santos he meets the cousin of his friend and pretty much destroys his relationship.
In one of the switches to him Trevor wakes up spooning said cousin, who constantly repeats:
"This isn't happening, this is all a really bad dream!"

He also says "Let's get another man involved! Then it's a real party!" sometimes when you get a private dance from two strippers.

I enjoy his lines about sexual abuse and violence towards his cronies far more than I probably should. I think he's the best out of the three "protagonists", he's actually interesting unlike Michael and Franklin. Maybe they get more interesting later in the game, I'm only like 25% through. I wish Lamar was playable, he's cooler than Franklin.

I think he's plain annoying.

I've done exactly 75% of the total game, only a few loose ends of story left to tie off. So far his character hasn't budget an inch, he is a constant raving loony toon. Michael goes through a midlife crisis and Franklin hits the big time but Trevor just gets richer.

There is a nugget of hope but I won't say more than that, as to avoid spoilers.
