After a very long period of virtual silence from Rockstar there is now a gradual release of information about GTAV.

Like most people I have given up hope on a 2012 release; but after my inital dissapointment that the game is not set in Vice City/Miami I am warming to the Vinewood/L.A. setting.

My initial apprehension at the prospect of another Vinewood based game was that I preferred Vice City (the game) to San Andreas. But I do prefer San Andreas as a location to Vice City.

So yeah, new screenshots of GTAV. I am sat down with a dopey grin on my face!

For the sake of discussion does the promise of parachutes, dirt bikes, the return of the Cheeta etc bring a smile to your face?

But, if the PC port of GTA 5 is as bad as the PC port of GTA 4 my game will probably look ten times worse than that. On my PC that can run Witcher 2 at max at 60fps...

Do I spy a fighter jet? Time to renact my Just Cause 2 playthrough in GTA.

Looking very good so far, although we've only had a trailer and screenshots so far and no actual gameplay.

Also, fighter jets and parachutes? Time to recreate Just Cause 2 levels of chaos

Looks like there's going to be more of an open world to explore outside the city (possibly cities?) like San Andreas. This has potential, all they really need is a protagonist that doesn't suck.

I can't help but notice that noone is getting shot in the face in those screens in GTA style.

2 Questions spring to mind

1. How the hell will my 360 be able to run that eyecandy without leaving a hole in the side of my house.

2. How will my PC ever hope to run that eyecandy without leaving an even bigger hole in the side of my house. My GPU is plop used to have SLI but had to remove one GPU due to technical problems.

As far as cosmetics go, it looks entire universes better.

Unfortunately these pics don;'t really show us much, aside from the aesthetic choice and some vehicles we might get to drive/use.

I was going to say pretty much this - they're pretty and all, but they don't exactly scream Grand Theft Auto, do they?

Ok, there's some vehicles, tennis and some damn nice graphics screenshots, supposedly from the game but I would have thought it more likely that they're just prettied up promo shots. Come on Rockstar, show us what we want to see - actual gameplay, or stuff that actually looks like the core of a GTA game.

For all my grumbling, I will admit that yes, the prospect of parachuting off mountains, desperately trying to control my dirt bike and the Cheeta (nothing else about it, just the fact that they're back ) does make me excited. Just a little. >.>

I'd like to see more pics/vids of characters so I know if they have better facial animations than the previous game.

I very much doubt it will. It definitely looks like it's for the next gen of consoles.

OT: I was really excited when they announced this game. GTAIV was amazing and this game can only improve on it.

My one concern is that it will run like shit on PC, just like GTAIV did, but I'll definitely be upgrading to try it out anyway.

That first shot looks like Mount Chiliad, my favourite feature from San Andreas. And the third one just looks like an awesome place to pilot a jet fighter through.

That does it. I'm buying this game.
