GTA: San Andreas 2? (Vinewood sign)

Can someone send an atlas to Rockstar? They seem to have lost theirs so they're just remaking the cities they had in previous games. Don't get me wrong, San Andreas was the best game they've ever made (except for maybe RDR, no PC version so never played it), but why a repeat town again, after it was one of the top complaints over GTA IV?

Oh well. At least they toned down on the grey I suppose.

Cites used in the GTA series:

GTA - Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas
GTA London - London
GTA 2 - Liberty City (I think?)
GTA 3 - Liberty City
GTA VC - Vice City
GTA SA - San Andreas envisioned as Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas
GTA LCS/VCS - Liberty City/Vice City respectively
GTA 4 & DLC - Liberty City
GTA 5 - Presumably San Andreas/Los Santos

Bit late to be making this complaint, don't you think? Rockstar have been using the same cities and ideas for years.

Also, all the people suggesting that the main character is Tommy Vercetti should take a look to see how many references to past games/characters GTA 4 had. It's pretty unlikely that Rockstar are going to retread that ground.

Finally, this trailer is fucking awesome.

Well I'm left with a nagging feeling this will yet again be in the spirit of "fuck you GTA is not suppose to be fun"...

At least they haven't turned it into a brown modern shooter... yet.

It sure did look pretty, but I hated GTA IV so I will wait to see if it actually peaks my interests. Though I do like the idea of having a family being part of the story. Hopefully it keeps that.

John marston? is that you, retiring from your life of crime on a quite farm out in the middle of nowhere with your family when you are suddenly pulled back in [insert Godfather quote here]?

while this doesn't look i am still kinda scared because "having a family" and my GTA4 experience let's me think that i will have to mow the lawn and help my kid with homework and coach little league and they will be pestering me by phone.

I think the main character is the original from GTA 3. They just released that 10th anniversary trailer and the narration sounds like that of a older gentleman. Also they it appeared that they showed shots of a man in a business suit a a man with similar gray hair exiting the van with the others. I think we are getting Rockstars take on middle age (suspecting because Smugglers run and Midnight Club came out in 2000 and seemed to be the basis for the tech in GTA 3 and the time between then and now is long enough for the whole team from then to be in their 30's and 40's) Hopefully they deliver a serious story about this without the shlock of San Andreas and the buddy system of 4. Hopefully there will be no child rearing though.

Rockstar sure makes great trailers.

I just this game is, you know, FUN. Unlike GTAIV.

Though to be honest, seeing the trailer does make me want to go back and give GTAIV yet another try. Sigh. Course, it'll have to wait until I'm done with SR3 and Skyrim and Arkham City and Uncharted 3 and anything else that comes out in the next few months.

He sounded a bit like Tommy Vercetti for a moment.

If R* have listened to peoples complaints and done something about them, brilliant. If not, they'll be shitting in the faces of many long-term GTA fans (pre IV) for the last time.

Screw the original game and just play Liberty City Stories. The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned are both miles better than the original game. Better stories, better characters, no awful friend system, more variation in the missions and both quite distinctive feels. Especially TBoGT comes highly recommended.

Did I mention the lack of an annoying friend system? I hope they leave that out of GTA5 as well.

I can't be bothered to care about Grand Theft Auto V Five with the obviously superior Saints Row the Third coming out to fill that niche in my game collection.

Well, I'd say I called it, but I'd be lying. I had my money on it being Vice City. I'm guessing since they're going for realism, it's going to be ONLY Los Santos, unless the map is HUGE . . or they actually create three separate maps where you have to catch a plane to go to each of them.

Well I think that they might do a three city thing. Remember the first San Andreas trailer? That only showed Los Santos so people on here shouldn't be so quick to judge.

If they are going to do 3 cities, with this level of detail then I dont think that one 360 disc can hold three cities. It may have a different playable character for each city, all of which lead into one big story.

Maybe somewhere in Florida?...No?...fine, what ever.

Either way the graphics look amazing, and knowing rockstar the gameplay will be fantastic.

I saw the Vinewood sign. So Los Santos is in it, anyone notice landmarks from San Fierro or Las Venturas?

Well I'm not counting GTA, GTA London and GTA 2 for obvious reasons, they were all birds-eye perspective games and we're talking about the environment and hence the graphical setting here, so comparing a top down 2D look to a 3D one is kind of silly. Same goes for LCS/VCS, they're PSP spinoffs.

Which leaves GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA San Andreas, which is why I'm saying they only reused a city once, with GTA IV and now they're doing it again.

Oh and don't get me wrong. The trailer looks incredible. I'm just sad that we're gonna be playing the same thing again in terms of environments. Exploring is one of the big points of open world games for me and I know the San Andreas landscape pretty much like the back of my hand - so it's pretty much gonna rely on story, which I have little to no real fear for and hoping that they bring back the old sandbox feeling (can't put my finger on why, but it was missing for me in GTA IV).

On the bright side, again, SA was their best game to date imo, it's a huge map (assuming they use all 4 areas again, they're bringing back colours and by the looks of it, jets. So yeah, I'll be playing the game for sure, but I'm also gonna be wishing it was placed somewhere else.
