The detail and overall implementation of FPS mode is fantastic. All the new unique animations for the weapons and driving etc is great, as are all the little touches like helmets. The fact they even have things like ADS (which I use as the only aim, the slight zoom in one is a bit odd) does make it play like a straight shooter. Driving in first person is particularly fantastic, especially on a bike. Car combat in first person is a bit fiddly but more than serviceable I find. It was literally the only reason I re-bought GTAV for PC, having played it on 360. And the phrase get's thrown around a lot, but it does make it feel like a whole new game.WolfThomas said:baddude1337 said:I did want to play it as just a straight FPS, so I ignored the third cover option. I would have just preferred them to tweak the FPS controls in cover a bit better, or just have an actual lean and crouch.Agreeing with sentiments here, it would be ideal to play entirely first person. But unless the cover system is overhauled for fps/lean implement the 3rd person cover is the only good compromise. It is pretty seamless too.ZombieProof said:Yeah, I play the game entirely in first person both in vehicles and on foot but I had to use the 3rd person cover option as well. A "lean" would have been freaking perfect for this because like you said, the first person cover as it is works like ass.
I do love how FPS is affected by your glasses/helmets etc and you can see your hands with whatever tattoos or gloves you've put on.
As for lean, yeah, I don't think there would have been too much balancing or changes involved for singleplayer. In terms of multiplayer there are already FPS only servers for it.
Having recently played Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm, That had a pretty straightforward first person cover system. Something like that would have been much more ideal.
