i won't be. i can't afford to miss school/work in order to play a video game. plus, my co-workers would be pissed off and i would have to deal with the backlash. i would much rather enjoy the anticipation of the game anyhow.

No but I would do what I did with Metro: Last Light. Don't sleep the night before and play as much as you can before classes start.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, my lack of full-time work allows me to squander the day away with GTA V, so I won't have the issue of the conflicting schedules between my want and need.

I certainly am. My job is a waste of time anyway, so I'd rather get tanked tonight and play it all day tomorrow.

I booked the date off in advance (Three years seniority and never taking sickdays normally gives you alot of flex XD) so I'm not skipping work per say for it.

I will likely be skipping sleep for it the next few days however.

My planning for my studies is quite free these weeks, but still I'll wait until I have my work for the day done. Never skipped work/school for games (though I'll admit, I came very close with Half-Life 2), don't intend to.

The anticipation is part of the fun. :)

Nope.

Not because I am aganist the idea of skiping work/school, but rather because I highly doubt the game is worth it.

If the game is awesome enough to skip them then OF COURSE I would. But since this isnt the case... yeah.

Some people are.

But I'm a member of the glorious PC gaming master race, so I won't. Even if I did suddenly change my mind about consoles, I would get a PS4, not a current gen console and would wait for the inevitable, vastly superior next gen port.

I did take a holiday around the release of Starcraft 2. But I did have other reasons. Otherwise I just don't get hyped enough to buy a game on release.

I don't work tomorrow and I have one college class that I'm considering skipping for it... and it's not really so much the class as it is an hour drive there and back, and I always hit rush hour traffic.

In the past however, when GTAIV came out I used some vacation time on that. People were like "Where ya going?" and I was like "Liberty City".

Funny thing is i dont skip work, i simply take off work.

Not for GTAV but for PS4 launch, taking a week off. Funny thing is my boss told me to take off for it.

Nah, I'm just going to pick up my copy on the way home and play it that night after my kid goes to sleep. I am excited for the game but no game is worth skipping work over.

I use my vacation for trips and my sick time for sickness, I'm a stick in the mud. I might be sleepy at work on Wednesday though, lol.

I don't work, and I've been there done that with regards to college.

So, I'm playing it straight away, and i'm going to be panting like a dog when i see the postman on his bike pulling up to my flat tomorrow, with my first class package.

All I can say is I certainly won't, I'm not even gonna buy it tomorrow, or ever, most likely.

Nor would I do that with a game I was really excited about. Even Half-Life 3 can wait 1 extra fucking day, I'm not 7 years old.

If a video game was so damn important to me that I had to be off on release day... well I'd plan ahead and book legit holiday time, take the day or maybe whole week off work.

As it happens, no game has been that compelling to me. Not even Skyrim and I was super hyped about that one. You seriously need to grow up if you're skipping school or work for something like this.

I wouldn't skip work but that's pretty much for my own financial reasons.... which is why I dont have the game yet haha
