Even if I wasn't a fan of other Marvel films, I'd still go see this just to see a talking racoon. However, MArvel have gone for genres that have been considered dead for years before (Thor = Space Opera, Captain America = Pulp 40's action) and while you can argue how great they were, you can't deny that they were successful. They've also done great work with their casting which has made up for a lot.
This year they bring us a Bourne style thriller in Winter Soldier and Sci-Fi action with Guardians and while I hope they're both great, I expect them to be at the very least solid and entertaining which is more then can be said for a lot of blockbusters.
