Hey everyone.

I am extremely thrilled about Guild Wars 2. I think the game looks immensly cool. Since I wanted to get deeper into the story and game overall, I bought Nighfall, Eye of the North, Factions and ofc Guild Wars.

But now I am rather in over my head. I could really use some veteran advice.

First of all:

1. Does anyone of you know a decent Monk/Mesmer build for PvE?

Pretty much the title. Selected Monk, because they apparantly have elements that the upcoming Guardian class seeks to imitate. I plan on making a Norn Guardian, so any help on playing this combination would be useful.

2. A comprehensive Guild Wars 2 - Hall of Monuments guide

I would love to have titles and stuff carried over from GW1 to GW2. But how do I do. I am really new to the game, so again, any help would be much appreciated.

There are tons of guides online for the HOM. None of them will make a lot of sense to read, though, until you're actually doing the stuff involved.

I'm actually slogging through GW1 myself right now with my girlfriend for HOM related purposes. I don't expect to get more than a few basic unlocks though. I recommend getting the Prophecies campaign out of the way first, as it's long and occasionally very tedious.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I would suggest nightfall as a good first campaign, its pretty hard but I found it to have the most enjoyable story

The best site for builds (That I remember, I haven't played much recently) is the PvX wiki
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

As for monk builds, you can't go wrong with a good WoH build. [http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Mo/any_WoH_Hybrid]

You might also appreciate investing in the skill Holy Haste [http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Holy_Haste]

(Holy Haste has its own build, too [http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Archive:Mo/any_Holy_Haste_LoD_Healer] but I usually try to bring it along in most builds.)

P.S. Don't forget to check out the Hero Builds! [http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Great_working_hero_builds]
