Guild Wars 2: On the path to success.

Most New MMO's fail as many as of you know but for the first time imo, we have come across a New MMO or sequel that seems to have the highest chance of success then any MMORPG before.

Left and right at conventions it has won award that other MMO's had not. (Even the Machinima award it gave to it beat out games normally MMO's wouldn't have. Just incase you didn't know the games it went up against: Dead Space 2, InFamous 2, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, The Old Repbulic.)

So far it has gotten praise from ppl who normaly don't have much intrest in MMO's becuase of how they normaly are and the highest of praise from many MMO players. I watched Spoonys Experiment about FF14 and GW2 and hit spot on for both of them, and I normaly don't watch Spoony: http://spoonyexperiment.com/2010/09/13/pax-coverage-final-fantasy-xiv-guild-wars-2/

For a game that isn't even in Alpha stage it already as many previewers and players alike have said, plays better then almost all mmo's on the market today.

Ladies and Gentleman I think we have ourselves a true gem.

I don't know what to think about it I'm buying it because i loved Guild wars, and it looks truely amazing i have a long history in guild wars, about 3 years coming up on 4 and in that time i have learned guild wars in and out, no stone left unturned so to hear this news about the upcoming game makes me really really excited

I wouldn't say its not in Alpha, just not close to a beta yet.

Still, I've been excited for it since the game was announced, cant wait to play it

I just get excited when people post stuff on GW2. Let alone when it gets even more acclaim than it has already gotten.

Though I think 85% of the GW2 topics are made by me. Though of course I am not going to go looking for all of them.

I do kind of have a thing were in the GW group, called Storm the Topic were I will tell GW group members to jump in the topic.

And without a doubt someone will foolishly make that statement.

I am beyond excited for GW2. GW 1 was amazing, I had so much fun with that game. I HATE GRINDING. With a level cap of 20, the game was gave you what you needed to have fun.

Maybe, which is funny because it's as "not WoW" as you can get while still being an MMORPG.

GW2 is looking so good it's hard to believe. I just know I'm going to have to shell out for some better hardware (Software, too >.<) to even dream of playing it as it is intended.

Combat certainly looks a lot more brutal and overall I'm just really glad to see this coming to life as, for a while, I didn't really believe it would happen.

For a long time the developers kept their cards hidden and now they're playing them it seems like they've got all the aces in the deck.

WoW sucks. Every MMO like it sucks. WoW is just the best one, but man, grinding is so old. I did grinding when I was 13 and played Runescape, and I find that game more fun than WoW. I mean they are nearly?(ok I know your laughing now ) the same thing. Both allow you to have "professions" in a way, but Runescapes "3Dish crappy graphics" world, made it more appealing. I dont friggen know. I did to me. A lot of people hate runescape =P

(Also, its late so I'm feelin' trollish and many of my friends play WoW. I don't hate the game. I just wouldn't shell 15 bucks a month for it)

GW2 Is hopefully going to be insane. Right now it looks like the brightest beacon of light. But there have been disappointments before.

Anyways, I look forward to this game. I loved the first, and continue to enjoy the fact that most of the things people think GW took from WoW (some of the abilities, especially for hunter), were actually in GW first and then added to Wow later

Edit: Also in before someone says all the videos and pictures are completely staged/cutscenes.

I need to get back to preparing for this. I don't even have a character with God Walking yet(but he's close at 26).

OT: I think GW2 will be good. The demo has apparently been well received and everything I've heard about the game sounds good.

Yes that is true. It has a 1 time fee like Guild Wars 1 had.

You do make a good amount of them and I can rely on you to mention it in other MMO threads as well. ;P Anytime you want to post any findings on it, you get a full two thumbs up from me for it. I sometimes hunt down info when I am not actually playing GW, as I have been on a kick of it for the past few months when I have game time. I normally check the boards here every day as it only takes about 2-15 mins depending on activity.

I have meant to join that GW group as well as I have seen you mention it a couple times now.

I did grinding when I was 13 and played Runescape, and I find that game more fun than WoW.

RuneScape is just as if not more entertaining than WoW for a third of the price, less if you include the base fees for WoW.

...I'm one of the few people who will say that.

OT: GW2 is beginning to look more amazing then it did with just the Manifesto trailer.

Being relatively new to GW, having never beaten any of the campaigns (only own Prophecies, for reasons that will make me ramble if I get prodded for them) and only having a fleeting knowledge of anything past the first few co-op missions, I can still honestly say I'm pumped for this.

Join it! It needs to get active again, after Gamescom it kind of gotten slower. Comic-con is coming up soon though so I hope for more activity! You can always count on me to get you GW2 info.

Well hopefuly they will aprove of the level 80 cap in GW2.
