For a time I loved guild wars I had a level 20 fire elementalist/mesmer and I played back before the expansion packs (I have been back since nightfall is ok but the cantha one is bad/hard). The thing that really put me of was the expansion of the shops; the system in guildwars used to be you make a PvE character to unlock things like weapon hilts and runes by finding them PvE and you could then use the unlockables on making a PvP character (insta-20) to do battle against other players in the hall of heroes to win the favour of the Gods for your region (europe/america/asia) which in turn made questing easier and unlocked the high level instances for your region. Likewise to unlock skills you got skill points on level up (the bar continues past 20 but only gave skill points) which then were used with gold to buy normal skills but for the "elite" ones wth awesome effects you had to go hunt "coloured" bosses in the areas (easy to find and easyish to kill) and use a skill capture signet to take the skill you wanted from the boss.

This system was in my opinion perfect but then the makers decided that they would make a pack available for lazy players so if you go to the online shop for a real life money price (always bad idea) you can buy a pack that contains every unlocakable and skill making the PvE aspect of the game redundant :/ [/rant]

I used to play about two years ago, the Prophecies campaign was a blast, enough so that I actually stuck with the game enough to get a Level 20 Warrior/Elementalist and a Level 20 Monk/Warrior.

Then Factions came along... ugh, while the new classes where good, the plot on that one was terrible, and the only redeeming quality was one new PVP mode. Worst 50 bucks I've ever spent.

Guild wars sux!

Now m allowed to say that, i have rank 9, I have 4 sets of fissure of woe armor, i have the rarest swords in game and i have amassed a wealth of over 2 million gold.

That took over 4,000 hours, iuno why i botherd, i coulda been playingwow or...something...

The reasons it sucks:

Easy to level
Easy to solo
Hard to make money
PVP is a joke because of meta builds
The game feels too thick
the list goes on if you want me to finish
Of all these things you listed only the unbalanced PVP striks me as an actual bad point of the game. Perhaps you come from Bizzaro world where player accessability is a bad thing and sex is the ultimate form of torture reserved for the worst of criminals.
Now that wouldent be a bad thing if:

leveling want limited to 20
soloing wasnt limited to small areas and a few skills
making money is TOO hard, in wow if you try hard you get money because traders buy for alot, but the games inflation is so high that anything worth having is faaaar too expensive
the game is like a block of hard cheese, unedible without effort
You have FOUR sets of Fissure armor and you say that money is too hard to come by?

I loved Guild Wars when I played. I had four max level characters with most of their primary skills and lots of secondary skills but the mods messed with it way too much and I ended up giving up. The economy was completely broken the entire time I played and by the time they fixed it (only a little, it was still broken) the economy was so flooded with gold that I doubted if it would ever recover.

I loved it more than any other MMO even with those problems. I loved having all of those skills and being able to choose how to mix them up plus having a secondary class to further mix the skills up. I loved being able to solo with the guards or team up with other people and the PVP was pretty fun too. After years of Everquest it was nice to have an online game with a story and a list of skills to use not six new ones every few levels which invalidated the last six.

I played for more than 2 years I got to say it gets really boring after a while. While you don't have to grind for level, because it has a level 20 cap, but you do grind for titles. And all the titles are repetitive, like killing stuff to get sunspear points. I think Guild Wars is missing the RPG elements it should have, any class can wield a sword and do max damage if they have the secondary warrior profession.

I loved guild wars wheni first got it, but after i had been through it with one character i tried to do it with another one and realised that because i wasn't on it with my friends any more and anyone i teamed up with to tackle the harder missions ,like the one with the giant turtle bastards and you need to keep them alive, you just cant do it, so this put me off the game and i havent played it in a while.
