I will also admit that I own a copy of the original Fate/Stay Night game that I got shipped to me from Japan. I loved the anime and decided to get the game for the full experience (even if it meant importing). It's in Japanese, but there are a few sites that have very good english language patches for it. Although I love the series for it's story and characters, it is technically a Dating Sim game (albeit a very well made one, Type Moon FTW!).

I'm not normally so insistent on terminology, but "dating sim" is not only pretty inaccurate, it carries way, way more negative connotations, and I've kinda made it my stock-in-trade here to get people to play those games.

I'm actually curious. And it's distracting my inner Type-Moon fanboy from demanding incredulously why exactly you consider the absolutely phenomenal Fate/Stay Night to be a "guilty" pleasure...

Ok, technically you are right, since all of the in game relationships are dictated by plot and not personal input, it's a visual novel. I'm normally more of a terminology Nazi about this kind of thing too, but since I was running on about 2 hours of sleep when I made that post, it must have slipped my mind.

I think once shipping was included, it was about $80. You can get it on this website (Best import site on the net by the way)(it's gone up a bit in price, but that's to be expected)

I'd call it a guilty pleasure because I liked the series enough to not bother pirating a copy of the game and actually import it. Also, since it's technically a Hentai game (magnificent plot and characters aside), it falls into your category of guilty pleasure.

I'm normally more of a terminology Nazi about this kind of thing too, but since I was running on about 2 hours of sleep when I made that post, it must have slipped my mind.

I can sympathize. It's usually these games that make me lose sleep...especially when I'm near the end of one and can't stop until 3 in the morning!

It's the only game I actually had serious doubts about torrenting (right in the gray zone between "no other way to get this, so I download" and "readily available in legal form, so I buy"). When I had the option, it was about $75 without shipping, and a used copy anyway, so I went the torrent route.

And yeah, I know of J-List. Bought most of my eroge from them, in fact (including _>
