There's a game on the PS2 based on the Japanese ChoroQ cars called Everywhere Road Trip. The graphics look like ass, all of the presentation makes it out to be an American racing game but the spotty translation and adventure game motif will confuse you after a bit. Basically the world is filled with sentient cars who speak by driving directly into each other, and you race in addition to colleca-a-thon gameplay and exploring the world. Vehemently hated by almost every reviewer who even knew it was a thing, but I've beaten it about 3 times.

Well, it's not a game exactly, but... Youtube "Let's Plays".

You know, where some person records an entire game in 10-20min chunks, usually with commentary.

I subscribe to a few such people. I spend about half an hour per evening watching them.

It's incredibly lame, I know. Watching someone else play a game. But it's kind of relaxing and it's a good way to get a solid idea of what a game is like without having to rely on potentially full-of-shit reviews or heavily edited trailers. They're also good for when there's a game where you want to know what it's about but don't want to shell out the money.

So yeah, that's mu gaming guilty pleasure.

I can't say I have a gaming guilty pleasure. Why would I take guilt in something I enjoy? Always seemed silly to me that people are ashamed of some aspect of what they like. :D

I suppose I sometimes feel a little silly for liking Star Trek Online for all its flaws, but I'm certainly not ashamed to admit I enjoy it.

here here! I hate the term "Guilty Pleasure", a stand-up comedian I like once said something I agree with along the lines of "it's not only an insult to the thing you like, it's also an insult to guilt."

so I have no "guilty" pleasures, only pleasures, an unconventional one of which, would probably have to be, "Asura's Wrath" I've heard nothing from anyone but horrible things about that game, but damn it I love it, the blatant over-the-topness of it and it being so full of anime cliches you'd think it was a parody, I loved the soundtrack even though the gameplay was overly safe and never challenged you (which I would normally be the first to complain about) it was the most fun I'd had for a while.

Let's plays are awesome. Probably my main draw to Youtube. They're a great way to relive some classics and take a fresh perspective on them from the person playing the game.

Informational, role playingish, humor, multiplayer, there's an LPer for everyone's tastes. Hell it's because of a Let's Player that I went out and bought a Wii (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) and Persona 4.

I really like Fable 3 as well. Not as much as Fable Lost Chapters, but I still think it was one of the best games that year.

I also like Bioshock 2 better then Bioshock. That seems to be another one of the cardinal gaming sins I have committed.

Also while I don't think it was a hated game (it seemed to have had a fairly tepid reception in the gaming world) I think Kameo was an amazing idea for a game and was quite fun. The story sucked, but I think we need more kick-@$$ fairy girls in games.

sigh..................... My guilty pleasure is Hyperdimension Neptunia and it sequel MkII. The shame they bring me when friends are around and looking at my games.

For those who haven't seen the covers here they are.

Dragonball Z Raging Blast 2.

Yeah, it's basicly Budokai Tenkaichi, yeah, it's not anything special, but I like it.

Also "Yes, it's dumb, yes it's gay, but we love it anyway!"

The Sims series. Over the years I have lost solid weeks of my life to those games.

Yes, it's just a virtual doll's house. Yes, the expansion packs are churned out to bleed as much money from each game as possible. Yes, there's now (horror of horrors) a store where you can buy extra content for real money. I do not care. I have fun with them.

Not really guilty, since I don't feel all that guilty while playing them, but I have a few that might fit:

- Turning Point: Fall of Liberty
- Legendary
- Amy
- Naughty Bear

And others.

...and here I was thinking I was the only person on Earth who purchased Naughty Bear (as well as its sequel: Panic in Paradise). That game is awesome in its own way. I even bought DLC for both versions. Huh, fancy that.

Critics be damned, Naughty Bear is a hell of a lot of fun. That's my choice as well.

Raging Blast 2 certainly kicks the shit out of Ultimate Tenkaichi, that's for sure.

Definitely the best "current-gen" DBZ fighting game on the market right now. I wish I could find a copy of my own.

I would have to say my "guilty pleasures" is a genre that I like, more than anything... Jrpgs. Specifically the Final Fantasy XIII series. Yes, I know, the characters are terrible. Yes, I know, the story is a mess. And I know the combat basically comes down to mashing x. BUT, I always have FUN when playing these games, or any jrpg for that matter. I don't know what it is, but it just hits the spot for me. Defiantly more fun the a modern military shooter.

Final Fantasy X-2 is my favourite FF game. By far.

Not that I would openly admit it though. I didn't even play it if there were people around.

And like the dude above me, JRPGs. I would take the worst JRPG game over the best of any other genre everytime.

Judge Dredd, SAW, and American talk shows.

Dredd is a guilty pleasure because most people think of me as the kind of guy who drinks champange wearing a silk dressing gown smoking a pipe on his veranda, but I find that the combination of kickass action and focused but uncluttered plot makes Dredd appealing to me whether it be the original comic, the 1995 Stallone version, or 2012's kickass Urban version.

SAW is basically for the same thing, though I prefer the storyline and development of the characters instead of the gore, which is why I prefer the original trilogy to the later ones. Before anyone says either "SAW is a horror film, the plot isn't important, enjoy the gore stupid" or "Lolplot? SAW is tortue porn and that's it, stop deluding yourself", I highly reccomend you go watch Welshy's SAW Retrospective, as it shows you the fine details and nuances that you may miss yourself that help you appreciate it.

American talk shows are cool, shut up, Craig Ferguson, Conan O'Brien and Ellen DeGeneres are much more entertaining than my fair isles "favourite talkshow host" Jonathan Ross. Seriously.

I really damn liked Too human. I thought it was a really cool idea and I even enjoyed the combat for the first level, I really wished they hadn't messed it up so badly since all I can hope for now is another company to get the IP and make a sequel or for another attempt at that kind of niche game despite too human failing so badly(Not happening)

This has Saints Row 3 written alllllll over it. When you're looking through the available weapons, and some part of you decides "Yes...I will go with the giant purple dildo over the baseball bat", you have checked your dignity and integrity at the door. Never mind when you start giggling at how it flops about as you beat civilians with it for bumping into you on the street.

Pokemon Pinball on the gameboy color.
Still play it even though it was a simple pokemon cash in, but it's sooo good.

This is really the only thing I can think of.
I have no shame, so I have no guilt.

If something is good enough for me to like and other people disapprove or don't like it, I see that as a challenge to fight for my games right to be acknowledged as a game. Guilt need not apply. I mean I more than happy reading childrens books and I played Katawa Shoujo on a public train (although I did have to turn that off at one point =D). Maybe if its something very girly or inappropriate. But I love the Sims and I love Saints Row 3 and I tend to want to explain why they're awesome to people rather than shy away
