So I was playing Burnout Paradise (there's my tenuous link to gaming. Also Burnout Paradise is seriously underrated) and this song came on:

And I remembered that I freaking love it. And that sickens me.

So Escapist, what's yours?

Feel free to post game and film ones as well, I'm not picky.
Same for me.

Ecchi manga. Goddamnit, I need to stop reading Nana to Kaoru for a while.
Nana to Kaoru is an awesome ecchi manga, too bad it doesn't update more quickly.

Okay, okay, that's not my real guilty pleasure, no, my real guilty pleasure is trolling Pewdiepie videos... I just hate the guy so much...
Glad to know I'm not the only one who finds him really annoying. And then his fans go and post on azuritereaction's videos and calim he rips-off all his LPs from pewdiepew jut because they are of the same game.

Recently been watching some JonTron vids on Youtube and he covered Sonic R.

I had that game years ago, it was fucking awful, but there was one thing about the game I loved...

It's so cheesy, but I love it :D
I now feel an urge to dig out my copy of Sonic Gems Collection to play that game.

I greatly enjoy William Shatner's covers of songs. His rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody is the only version I enjoy, and his version of Common People is so much better than the original it should have ripped time and space.

Paramore.
I'm a metal head but there's something about their cheesy pop rock and melodic voclas that darw me in.
That and the fact that Hayley Williams would get everything. Everywhere.
I love them. And I listen to Korn, Gilgoroth, All That Remains, some Carnifex, BTBAM, all that metal stuff. And classic Maiden, Metallica, et cetera... But pop-punk gets me. Blink 182, Green Day, Paramore... A Day to Remember is awesome, because they mix them.

Me too...

I guess my biggest guilty pleasure is LMFAO... I hate that type of music normally, but they're just awesome... And now Gungnam Style, apparently.

Dave Grohl has something to say about this.

Deep words indeed.

OT: I guess being a brony is my guilty pleasure to some degree. I couldn't tell someone why I enjoy the show, but I sure do. And I'm not neurotic like other bronies that agree that if you don't believe friendship is magic you're the scum of the Earth.

HEY!

That's my thing to post in threads about guilty pleasures!

Dammit now I have nothing to say...

I don't really get guilty over things I enjoy. I used to a lot over videogames, comics, manga, the whole lot, but now it doesn't bother me. Especially since I memorised a quote to use whenever people have a go at you for liking something a bit off the beaten path.

'To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up' - CS Lewis

Obviously, I don't quote the whole thing at people.

But anyway, when you post on the Escapist, you win or you're ninja'd.

Teen Wolf. I watched the first episode on Netflix one night and somehow got hooked. I'm shocked that I'm watching a MTV show about high-school werewolves, but damn this show is fun.

Nothing.

How much I enjoy things, defines their quality. Therefore if I enjoy something, it can't be low quality and I have nothing to feel guilty about.

If I enjoy a girly J-pop song, then that must be a damn catchy song. If I enjoy a cripple porn game made by 4-chan members, that must be a pretty high quality cripple porn game with emotional depth and quality writing. If I enjoy a cartoon about ponies saving the world with the power of friendship, that must be because that cartoon is actually funnier than the rest of the others around it.

The whole "guilty plasure" bs is just an excuse for people to act like they are oh so sophisticated and tasteful that they wouldn't GENUINELY enjoy certain things (even when they evidently do), to circumvent the fact that they don't dare to call out the majority's Sacred Cows, their belief that you are simply NOT SUUPPOSED TO consider certain things good, not even if they are.
This man speaks the truth.

I quite like this for some reason. The kind of cool arrogance and dudebro-ness of his popped collars and stuff should annoy me, but it does not. No sir, I do not think I am cooler than you.

As for my guilty pleasure.... That song by One Direction. What Makes you Beautiful, I kinda like it. But only that one!
