OK, seriously, does anyone else thinks Activision and Neversoft need to slow it down? I mean, Guitar Hero 6 already being worked on?

I personally think it'd be better if they put it into DLC,rather than 2-3 new games a year. Rock Band has a nice formula going.
[This is not a GH vs RB thread.]

I can't say I didn't see this coming. As long as people keep buying, Activision will keep making Guitar Hero after Guitar Hero.

If they keep up the enormous changes for the better prominent in the last three or so games, I'll keep buying.

BESIDES, at least it's not the Twilight franchise, which has just released New Moon and already finished the next film, set to be released in June.

NOTE: LEXODUS DOES NOT ADVOCATE A MASS DISCUSSION ABOUT TWILIGHT ON THIS THREAD. I ONLY MADE THE POINT TO SHOW THAT GUITAR HERO IS NOT THE ONLY FRANCHISE DOING THIS.[/block caps disclaimer]

Well, seeing as Activision is in charge of the production, not the development, I think we can pretty much blame the rapid releasing of GH games on them.

And no. As long as it still makes money, Activision will not slow down.

I still have a guitar controller, but I'm done with music games... at least, until they come out with, like, Guitar Hero: Rage Against The Machine or Megadeth Rock Band.

So, one downloadable song for Guitar Hero costs appoximately 1 to two dollars. Let's use guitar hero 5 as an example of how things work:

Guitar Hero 5 has 85 songs, and you can make your own. Guitar Hero 5 is 60 dollars.
Guitar Hero 5 DLC is 2 dollars a piece. That means that in order to get another 85 individual songs, you'd be paying an additional 170 dollars (approximately).

So, when it comes down to it, I'd much prefer that they keep making the games rather than releasing DLC, as long as I can keep using the same controller.

Yea, i definitely think that GH needs to totally re-work their formula. First off, its called Guitar Hero so have a second guitar part for each song and get rid of the mic! But more importantly, stop coming out with useless sequels and just keep coming out with more games based on the same engine, but geared towards a specific genre; like GH Blues, GH Hard rock, or even GH country (God forbid).

You can't stop it man! Soon all music will end in favour of people being wired into their little plastic sex toys! THE APOCALYPSE HAS COME, AND ITS NAME IS ACTIVISION!!

On a related note, didn't the inclusion of Kurt Cobain in GH5 seem incredibly tasteless?
Kurt Cobain's inclusion was no more tasteless than Jimi Hendrix's inclusion in GH 4. Their estates agreed to allow their image and music to be used for the games, so what are we going to do about it? Really though, who plays GH to look at the little avatars being used? I never even notice the backgrounds while I play.
