Because it is easier. Also if everyone swallowed gum there wouldn't be a piece of chewing gum lying on the pavement every 5 steps.Phoenixlight said:Why the hell would you intentionally swallow chewing gum?

You do know that chewing gum gets digested LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE YOU EAT. Right?aegix drakan said:SPIT. ALWAYS SPIT.
I do NOT want to risk that shit clogging up my intestines or appendix or stomach or whatever.
well after the midget folding sheets thread I saw here today, I was ready for anything... and you have to admit the thread title was more than a little suggestive.-Drifter- said:I see you're fairly new.FallenTraveler said:wow... came in here expecting something COMPLETELY different.
Some things can't be digested at all. And someone already put this link down saying gum is one of those things: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/digestive-system/an01006Amphoteric said:You do know that chewing gum gets digested LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE YOU EAT. Depends on your diet. Besides, I don't think there's a single recorded instance of swallowed gum sticking around for that amount of time (is there?). I've heard of plenty of hospitalisation because of excessive gum-swallowing (with coins or other indigestibles/chronic habit etc.).Krychek08 said:That stays in your stomach for 7 years!!
7 YEARSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know cause I'm a doctor.
Considering Gum is made out of either plastic or rubber, I don't want to take any chances with my stomach not digesting it right.Amphoteric said:You do know that chewing gum gets digested LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE YOU EAT. Right?aegix drakan said:SPIT. ALWAYS SPIT.

Anyway, I don't chew gum any more these days, but when I did: spit.
It's made of latex or polyisobutene i.e. rubber. No, thank you. If there's a way of just keeping the xylitol, then I'd just have that and not bother with the gum (though to be fair, even that I don't really need).
Ooooooooo, that's a shiny piece of paper! *meh* My poke that I don't want latex in my mouth was supposed to be slightly euphemistic, but never mind... -_-Krychek08 said:*puts on doctor hat*
You doubt my qualifications?

PS I'm being facetious
It's not good for your body to swallow it and you can just put it in the bin both options are equally as bad.Amphoteric said:Because it is easier. Uh huh... sure.ShockValue said:Swallow. I always swallow. Gum that is. I remember a thread like this doing the exact same thing not too long ago >.>
