I really want to watch Turn A Gundam because many people consider it to be one of the best Gundams out there. Also, the fact that this series somehow ties together all the Gundam universes is insane! But here's my problem: I have only watched Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam,G Gundam and the 08th MS team. Everyone online says that I should watch ALL of the Gundams before Turn A; but I fear I don't have the stamina. I have been trying to watch Zeta; but Camile is a whiny little ***** and the story is just not holding my attention. If it wasn't for Char I would have quit by now but I'm so done with these fight scenes where no one dies and the mobile suits just kind of float around missing each other while Camile whines.

while avoiding as many spoilers as possible could someone tell me why and or to what degree my satisfaction of Turn A Gundam will hinge on me watching these other Gundams. I read somewhere that they dig these mobile suits up from the previous eras or whatever; but I looked through the list and didn't see any mobile suits I recognized.

Could someone who knows what their talking about help me out here?

As someone who has never watched any Gundam series (not even a whole episode of anything Gundam) but is interested in doing so, I too would value any expert advice on the subject.

Haven't watched it myself, as they haven't brought it over here yet, but from what I know, the series contains references to all the previous Gundam series before it.

@Grunbar

I would highly recommend watching the 08th MS team. It's an OVA so its only like 8 episodes long; but its very very good.

PS love your avatar WAAAAAAAAAAGGG

The other Gundam series are only fleetingly referenced (no mention of specific characters or events), so you won't miss anything not having watched the other series. The mobile suits that are dug up are mostly new designs that are only featured in Turn A. Only a couple are recognizable as mobile suits from older series (like the Borjarnon which is basically a Zaku II from MSG, or the Kapool which is the Capule from ZZ).

I liked Turn A, it was slow to get started, but fresh and fun to watch.
