I decided to give this game another chance as it's on sale at PSN for $5.99. I am already seeing the improvements and updates made over the years.
@Elvis Starburst, @CriticalGaming, @hanselthecaretaker2, and @Old_Hunter_77, if you're are interested: GG GORE is actually good and fun to play now after all the updates. They removed all the bad platforming sections and buffed Grave to make him move much faster and stagger way less. I am already almost done with the game. I got another 1/4 left of it.
It's now a good throwback PS2 style shooter that works with plenty QoL updates and features. The sale is already over though, so I reccomend you wait for the next one on Steam or PSN.

The update (announced 4 months ago) that makes GG GORE on PS5/4, Series X, and PC makes it play more like Switch version (with none of the drawbacks), just shadow dropped today. This makes the Switch version even more pointless now. Rocket Billy and Harry McDowell are DLC characters, and Grave gets a Street costume. Harry is just a palette swap of Young Brandon, so I will never pay for him.

For those with decently powered or powerful enough PC, GG GORE Is on sale right now for nearly eight bucks.
The bundel is definitely worth the price since it's a few dollars more. You get some extra DLC characters and some extra costumes. The only lame bonus is Harry McDowell. He's just a lazy model swap of Young Brandon Heat. Young Brandon still plays better than him.
