Feel flattered. A bit smug in a "Yeah, gay guys totally want me" kind of way.
Let him know that it's very unlikely abnythings going to happen. Stay friends.

Well, I'm straight female.
If this person was a girl, I would tell them I appreciate their admiration for me and let her down gently.
If this person was a boy, well maybe I would be interested. I like the idea of going to next level of relationship with a friend. I mean, if we are close, we should understand each other and sync up pretty well right? I'll probably give him a shot.

I'm bisexual, but I'm already in a long term relationship. If I wasn't then... I don't know, maybe, I guess it would depend which friend. Gawd, that was a really lame answer.

Since I'm gay, I'll reverse it and assume a close opposite sex friend is doing the coming out.

Would possibly admit that, despite not being sexual, the feelings kinda mutual (cause I kinda love all close friends like siblings.
Then, we would undoubtably proceed to do everything a gay-male/straight-female couple stereo-typically does. Like shoe shop.

I would not like any of my close friends doing something like that.

That would wreck the way I look at them.

I'd be flattered (and rather doubting of his mental state, seeing as he became attracted to me of all people) but I'd have to tell him not to pursue it further. I simply don't swing that way, though sometimes i rather wish I did. Female communications are so much harder to decode than males, and even male communication seems difficult to decode.
