Get Mark of the Ninja, it's a fun little stealth game that actually does stealth right.

"Expeditions: Conquistador" is not a bad turn based RPG/Strategy title, albeit a bit on the brutal side, especially if you decide to go against the historical trend and be a nice guy/peaceful explorer (which is an option). I also notice both "Bioshock" (any of them, including Infinite) are not on your list, as is "X-Com: Enemy Unknown" you might care for those. While it's not "Dawn Of War", "Pirates Of Black Cove" can be entertaining (it's kind of a fly by night production). "Neverwinter Nights 2" is a game I personally like, especially the second part (Mask Of The Betrayer) but it gets mixed reviews. "Jagged Alliance Online" is a decent game, however it's one where you need to buy the game to get the single player campaign, and to be honest it seems set up to try and convince people to spend real money for in game cash after a while since it can be hard to not run at a deficit simply due to health pack expenses, at least to begin with.

Programming courses are not really required, but 3D Modeling and using an image modifying software (like Paint.NET for textures) are things you're going to want to learn when making a game.
Depends on what part of the game you are starting with and on which language/engine. But some knowledge on python for example is always good and there's a python course right now if i recall right; it will at least teach you how to make scripts that are very useful when doing the arty shit.

OT: If making games or studying for fun is not your thing... dunno, from your game list i would recommend Faster Than Light, will burn a lot of time and it's very cheap.

Instead of playing games, try making one?

this.

Let me tell you a tale of a text based flash programming GOD, who made his first text based game to give back to the community for all the free games he has played.

Since starting it, he has been able to quit his job and support his wife and two kids by donations.

FOR A TEXT BASED FLASH GAME.

then, he had a crazy idea, make another text based game set in space and is to be even more massive than his original game, make a kickstarter like drive, and make it as soon as possible.

his goal? about $3,000 I can recall.

Ending donations? $170,000.

for. a. text. based. flash. game.

Thats not the funny part, sometimes for donation days he would get some that requested him to take a break and play some TF2 or other games.

GETTING PAID TO PLAY OTHER GAMES.

this awesome person that I am completely 100% not jealous of in any way shape or form is Fenoxo.

but yea, if you are that bored, start making a game you want to play.

or read a book.

actually, just read a book, because reading is fun.
Let's be fair, though... he's not being paid for the game, he's being paid for the detailed furry porn fic. (It's a detail that needs to be mentioned.)

Oh Gods, I had one encounter with Fenoxo stuff... it nearly made me vomit.

OT: If not making your own game, you could try doing speedruns.
